I actually kind of get Shiki's skirt. It's wide on top but as it get lower you can see that it "pinches" around her hips then widens again. The pants I'm wearing now are actually like that a little, wide on top but then they "pinch" lower down because of an elastic so they only appear to break the laws of physics.

I never want to see that mankini again though, my mind, I don't even...

Trivia #34 I cannot stop laughing! I will have this image of an Asian man jumping up in the air shouting "Roxas jump!" and splitting his pants forever stuck in my mind. XD
It is sooo much funnier because my sister, my brother, and me had a conversation about Roxas's jump a few years ago that was similar. My sister was playing KH2 and my brother walks by the tv and notices how Roxas jumps and in his exact words says "How does he jump like that and not rip his pants?" I then imitated Roxas's jump (minus the "Roxas jump!") to show him. I did not rip my pants! My sister then said "I wish he would rip his pants!" My sister was a rabid Roxas fangirl.

Re-opened my copy of FM+ to see "Sora"'s notes on the pictures. Can't believe I never noticed it before(Probs because I didn't open them xD)

For the official artwork for Donald and Goofy, Nomura would start with a rough draft, then send it over to a Disney designer to draw. After receiving the drawing, he'd draw it once more himself, making few changes from the designer's redraw. He drew their Atlantica and Halloween Town forms from beginning to end though.

Makes you wonder if he still does that. Probably not, but it would be kind of cute if Nomura still sent design drafts to Disney to correct. What do you think?

I'm assuming the logic behind this was to get it as close to the Disney designs as possible? What's even more interesting is that he didn't do it with those two variations. Maybe he was secretly embarrassed to show the Disney designers his...innovative...Atlantica hybrids, although the Halloweentown designs are boss so that wouldn't explain much there.

That was what I was thinking, in which case I wouldn't think they do that as much now that he's been drawing them for ten years.

Yeah, that was what I was thinking. xD Maybe he was avoiding Disney telling him he needs to redesign them. If he gets it done and already in the process of being made into models, Disney wouldn't be able to tell him "no"? Or maybe he just felt confident about them because designing them was a bit of a freer process?

I feel like Nomura may still do that, I mean all the Disney character portraits are spot on and not saying that he could not replicate the art style or anything but I have always figured someone else drew the Disney characters.

If you look at his concept artwork for Stitch in BBS he looks cute and everything, but not really accurate or like his character portrait. So I guess that is one of the reasons why I still believe he may do this.
