I'm happier with Ariel as a partner than a princess, as others have started before me, I'm not sure she'd fit the bill.Willing to make a deal with the devil, etc. Plus, it was cool to have her fighting there.

But, aren't almost all the Disney Princess wanting more? Like Riku did, they weren't super satisfied with their current situations... The way they went about changing it was almost identical, though. Asking scary ladies that they knew they couldn't trust for the power, that it.

Yes, it is. The whole plot of Disney's Pocahontas is a shoehorned, romanticized White Savior meets Good Indian Girl parable that completely distorts the historical significance of what occurred in Jamestown and other colonized sectors of what is now the United States. It has some good songs, though.

Yes, they were. Aside from their blatantly stereotypical portrayal, "redskins" is a well-known pejorative term which is etymologically equatable with the N word.

Except I am an indigenous person, that's not how I "imagined" myself or my peoples, and that isn't an excuse for enacting racist characterizations in the first place. Just because you "imagine" black people or Jewish people or queer people or women a certain way doesn't mean it's appropriate to portray them based on an ignorant fantasy.

Just because white children are stupid and ignorant doesn't mean ethnic cultures have to put up with your problematic depictions and appropriations of our cultures. Oh wait I just gave you a whole sentence's worth of guilt-driven victimization to work up.

So, in the last trivia with Sora and Nomura's handwriting, are there any translations to those pictures or is the English below it the translation?

Well first, let's say this, trying to involve the little mermaid 3 can't work because I guess technically Atlantica, in KH2, took place before even the first movie, because in KH2 the plot of the movie was essentially the plot of the world. So Ariel couldn't know that humans killed her mother until after KH2 because in the end credits of 2 is when Eric and Ariel got married. Besides Humans weren't any kind of factor in KH1, she just wanted to see other worlds, humans didn't come into play until the second one.

About Mulan, even if she had learned to fight, it's still understandable that she could be captured, because those who went to capture the PoH utalized a power that is more powerful than they have ever faced. So it could be easily justified. Like Will Turner said in KH2 "my own fencing skills are not to be ashamed of...but I've Never faced foes such as that before." and remember, he dueled Jack Sparrow and won, which is why Jack was sent to prison but then Will broke him out, so Will has fighting skills, but admits he is no match for the heartless, and neither is Jack sparrow, without Sora, Donald, and Goofy. that's just the heartless, Riku could easily take out beast (which was shown in Hollow Bastion) so it could be very easily explained, at any point in the Mulan timeline, if she were to be captured.

And when I was talking about curiosity, I was saying that Alice was curious too, and she even admits is too much for her own good. So, just because she accidently fell down the hole, had she not given into the curiosity, she would have been fine. Ariel, Riku, and Master Xehanort all had curiosity with good intentions, just as Alice, so what makes her different that those people that she can have a heart of pure light?

Exactly, it's just the way it is. You can't change it, whether you like it or not Alice is a princess of heart and Ariel is not.

Only going to say a couple of things because this is starting to get annoying:

It's not about whether it's understandable. It's about whether the fans would be happy -- and I'm pretty sure Mulan fans would be very unhappy if she showed up in the game with no other role but to get kidnapped.

Like Ariel's role as party member in KH1, Mulan's role as party member in KH2 was far better than forcing her into the Princess of Heart box would have been.

(On a different note... Mulan has the highest human mook kill count of just about any Disney protagonist, considering how many Huns died in that avalanche. It's possible something like that could interfere with the "heart of pure light" thing, one might imagine.)

Ariel's curiosity, like Riku and Xehanort's, is somewhat malignant -- it drives her to take actions that are morally-questionable and knowingly hurt other people. Alice's isn't; her curiosity never leads her to do anything morally-wrong, and the only thing she really risks is her own safety.

I wanted to respond to your Mulan point and such, but since Ikkin got that down, I'll just focus on this. Ariel's mom died when Ariel was around 5 years of age. Little Mermaid 3 is a prequel to all the Little Mermaid movies. If Ariel is ever over the age of 5, her mother already got killed and she should know better than to interact with humans. Unless you are trying to say that the Ariel in KH1 or KH2 is 4 years or younger, your point is moot.
