Ahh the ol' Destiny Island glitch. This was the first video game glitch I ever attempted. It was fairly easy to pull off and it's pretty neat.

It's been a while, so my memory's a little fuzzy, but I believe if you walk around the point where you rose up, you'll eventually fall down. It may only be a couple levels though, prompting you to just keep walking around and tumbling back down steadily

You get back down if you walk over any normal area of the map.
