Well, before I go on, let me make sure i understand you correctly, because I might not. You're saying that the events of Days causes Axel, Roxas, and Naminé to fall into the category of the people in torment, who are addressed at the end of Coded, and during the secret ending of BBS that takes place in the present. This all hints at Sora's next adventure, which is likely to occur over the course of KH III. So, why can't that represent the exposition for that game? (I get that this presumption requires KH 3D to be something entirely different, but all I mean to say is that why can't it represent the basic outline of KH III's plot?)

I know that we've been given the gist of the future events from those two games, but I mean that the actual freeing of the ones in torment could possibly happen in KH III. I don't mean for KH III to have more hinting. I mean, that that actual prrocess could be a part of what happens in the game.

What do you mean by the other games? Are you referring to BBS and Coded, or 3D and the mystery game? If it's the former, then those games were necessary to build up to this point. If it's the latter, then I don't know; maybe it's just Nomura and co. introducing more filler into the mix.

I agree. I don't think her involvement was necessary at all. I still have a hunch that 3D will be another midquel just to further increase the density of the whole story in the time frame we've been given thus far. The mystery game could be anything.

Lol, that is so true. Except I disagree with the decent self plot part. I thought there were lots of weird issues and repetitive crap in the plot.
Nomura says that he isn't working on KH3 for two reasons.
1) his main KH game team is working on Versus.
2) he doesn't feel ready, and despite all the pressure from the company and fans, he just doesn't want to start it yet.
Days has nothing to do with it. Days was basically written by someone other than Nomura, and developed by a different team.
I want Nomura to make a great KH3, and I'm more than willing for him to wait until he has the team he is confident in, and is confident in himself. It's not like he even owes us this game, let alone owes it to us asap.

i would like to add to some things. the two new games: 3d and mystery title could be leading up to the torment freeing process that could occur in kh3. now then why would we need these? Nomura said that 3d basically will be a tripp, so it could show how freeing them from their torment might not be so easy. 3d could focus on whyfreeing xion roxas and axel wont be easy and show him how to do it using the data and the other game could do the same for TAV
I think this thread should belong in the spoiler section. :/
I just want to say thank you for summing up my thoughts over the past 4 years! This is exactly what I've been saying since KH2 came out. Even beneath all the hype I saw that it had no substance. Other than KH1, if you think about it, every game can be summed up in about 4-5 hours. Take away the Disney worlds from CoM and it would be about a 2 hour game. With KHII, take out the useless Disney worlds and you would have at most a 5 hour game. And finally, take away all the needless missions from Days and you would have potentially 3 hours worth of cutscenes to watch!
When you take all the dead weight off, there's almost nothing left when it comes to the new games. As someone who has played BbS, I am glad to say that it is as fulfilling as KH1. I just hope the series continues in a positive direction.

The Disney worlds were dead weight in a sense, but I don't think a cutscene can sum up a video game. If you think about it, couldn't KH1 be summarized in a cutscene, couldn't everything that ever happened in the world be summed up in a cutscene...a really long one, but still. The fact is Kingdom Hearts is a video game, and had they had a long 20 minute cutscene at the beginning of KH2 about everything that happened in CoM for instance, it would leave people wondering as too if anything happened that we didn't get too see. The thing I like about a video game is that since you are playing through the game as the character you get too see everything that happened to them, and a cutscene wouldn't be from Sora's 1st-person perspective, so some people would wonder if things happened taht we didn't get too see. However, mroe importantly then that, wouldn't it be weird had Nomura introduced Namine, Marluxia, and Larxene in a cutscene (for Sora's storyline at least), and took them out in that same cutscene not to be reintroduced in the storyline again till Days...well, Namine had a part in KH2, so nvm her. Going back to the main thing, I agree about the whole dead weight thing, but I dont' think the games should have been reduced to a cutscene, without getting their own game first...thats all.
Also, out of curiousity...this may be hard too choose, but I'm just curious, did u like KH1 or Bbs better??? I'm just really curious, becaues I know a lot of people say Bbs is just as good, so I'm curious from someone who has played it, do you think it's better?
