I remember when a member would have everyone jumping down their throats for daring to claim that Lingering Sentiment might be canon because Nomura had made some extremely ambiguous comment that supposedly 'confirmed' that he wasn't.

....You know what, you should do that for all the translated KH stuff out there. There's more than just Nomura interviews, and it would be nice to have them all archived properly. I think we try to do that at HEARTSTATION.ORG, where I help translate articles and interviews and cutscenes and novels and things (lol you linked to some of my stuff on your nomura blog <3) buuut we don't have all the old things...

No....? You said that those characters were all in the same boat as him, making the fact that he was saving the world with the Keyblade less special, and I explained how they were NOT in the same boat as him because they weren't saving the world with the Keyblade. That is all.



We have always known that there was some kind of legacy behind the Keyblade, from all the hints that HeartSeams mentioned. However, Sora had to run around figuring out how to uphold it on his own. Now the culture around the Keyblade has been revealed, and is even being restored, after a nine year period of ruin. How does this make it less 'special'? The Keyblade is still the magical weapon that saves the world and protects the balance between darkness and light. That hasn't changed. The fact that there is some mysterious legacy surrounding it hasn't changed. The only thing that has changed is that we are getting more answers about that legacy and culture, and more Keybladers who are a part of that are appearing. And if you think that makes it less 'special', then I think you have an extremely different definition of the word 'special', and have probably been misinterpreting the role of the Keyblade since KH1.

what i meant from "in the same boat" is that they are both in the same situation with the keyblade (because you said what makes sora special is that he is inexperience with it).

by special, i mean they should've made it more rare or something about it that wasn't so common or easy to obtain, IMO that's not special or if it is, it wouldn't be emphasized. and the role of the keyblade is what i think is important to overall series, but with more and more wielders being revealed, i can't see how the antagonist is going to win or be difficult for sora to beat him.

more answers about the keyblade isn't what changes what the keyblade is and neither is the culture (though i think this word isn't appropriate to use for this situation). Personally, i would like the keyblade to still have quite a few mysteries. either that or sora gains an ability of the keyblade that no one in the series has. and no i don't think i misinterpreted the role of the keyblade....it's been pretty much the same in overall series.......but considering that it's a "key" that can unlock and lock anything, it would be great to see the keyblades to be something more rare. like what nomura did in the first one.

Xehanort took on Terra Aqua and Ven, and if he's ever restored to full power for real and -horror of horrors- comes close to ANY of his plans gaining actual real fruition, it will be devastation unlike anything we've ever seen before.

Xehanort took on Terra Aqua and Ven, and if he's ever restored to full power for real and -horror of horrors- comes close to ANY of his plans gaining actual real fruition, it will be devastation unlike anything we've ever seen before.

the circumstances of being chosen isn't hard. sora only had a strong heart.

and the spoiler didn't even help....that was more opinion related than comparison.

Xehanort failed, if he comes back most likely Sora, riku and kairi along with donald, goofy and mickey will come into the mix. so i have yet to see how it's going to be very difficult.that and they will most likely save aqua and ven before defeating terra.

This understanding is exactly what sucked the specialness right out the first KH's subsequent games. It's this pivotal notion that suggests that being a keyblade wielder really isn't that big of a deal.

I believe the Keyblade is still a big deal. It's still a rare tool that few people get to see, but almost none to wield. So in a way, it's still mysterious, even with BBS' reveal of a culture of Keyblade masters, because one may ask how the creation of the Keyblade is devised or first seen by humanity. So no matter what, the keyblade will always be that mysterious weapon...

...still, Nomura make shit sequels. Case in point; Advent Children.

It's not common. Common is where everyone is wielding it. As it is currently, only four wielders are confirmed [Sora, Riku, Kairi and Kairi] on the protagonist side, wheras we don't know if Xehanort has recovered his wielding ability. It's common because to us, we see them a lot in-game. In the universe, it's still a rare weapon that only a few people can see, and almost none who can wield.

I would rather prefer if the art died by KHIII, rendering Sora, Riku, Kairi and Mickey to have lost the Keyblade, since the universe is saved and the sacrifice of the keyblades was necessary to achieve that, killing the art. But... we have a new saga afterwards, so fat chance of the keyblade dying anytime soon unless a new replacement is on the horizon.

And the Keyblade is something of an icon not to be rid of.

I would say directing a movie is far different from directing a game...but thats just my opinion. I don't mind the storyline of Advent Children...I just thought it was done in a boring manner...I don't think the KH games were done in a boring manner and they had interesting storylines as well.
