They look almost completely different aside from the white hair. Xemnas HAS changed from his human counterpart. OBVIOUSLY Ansem would've noticed "Oh yeah! He turned into a Heartless!" if he saw Xemnas.

Except for the fact that Nobodies are supposed to have the same, if not nearly identical, face of their human counterparts? Ansem could easily be mistaken. Especially since I doubt that Xemnas and Ansem would have a nice long chat while Xemnas was banishing him.

And as I already pointed out, Xigbar's comment about the first thing that XEMNAS did when he banished Ansem was making the Chamber of Repose wouldn't make sense if it was Xehanort who had banished Ansem.

(I think this fact can also be supported by the fact that Sora takes Mickey to a portrait of XEHANORT and refers to him as Ansem Seeker of Darkness. Sora confused Xehanort's Heartless with Xehanort so why is it such a stretch for Ansem to mistake Xemnas for Xehanort?)

Xemnas would frequently travel to the room, as if something within it reminded him of his forgotten past. In the scene in Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix, Xemnas entered Ansem's computer room, inserted a data disk into the machine, and typed in the password "Another", after which he typed in six more passwords: the original names of the six apprentices.

The BBS Ultimania confirms that Xehanort became a Heartless/Nobody a year after BBS. Which would line up more with my timeline than with yours.

Explain the organisation members like zexion, axel and saix? Is this why the order and time period they became nobodies questionable? if nobodies don't age, then this means that it took a few years for some of them to succumb...

I'm sorry but there's NO WAY Ansem would look at Xemnas at first glance and say "Oh yes, he looks exactly like my apprentice who hasn't transformed into any sort of creature at all whatsoever" Ansem wasn't aware of Xehanort turning into a Heartless until after he escapes the realm so he Xehanort HAD to turn into a Heartless after banishing him or else it would be a major plothole.

That has yet to be explained but it's already been confirmed a while ago that nobodies do not age.

I didn't say it proved it per se, I said it fit better with mine. I find it odd you conventiently avoid addressing this point every time I make it, but Xigbar has said that the first thing Xemnas did when he banished Ansem was make the Chamber of Repose, which is filled with Nobody insignias. If Xehanort was the one to banish him and then make the CoR how would he know about Nobodies when even his Heartless only guessed at their existence?
It's clear that Xemnas was the one to banish Ansem, imo.

Also, not knowing the specifics of Heartless and Nobodies would easily explain how he didn't realize he wasn't looking at "some sort of creature" when Xemnas banned him. There is no plothole.

thanks! I've already read that though. I've read one or two of the ultimania nomura interviews as well, and they were pretty hard to find. I believe I read the Birth by sleep and kingdom hearts 1 ultimania. =/

Leon and Co also never saw XH. If they had, it could be assumed that they would know he wasn't the actual Ansem. I don't think XH went to the people of RG and told them he was Ansem, I think it was more that everyone had assumed Ansem the Wise was doing stuff inside his castle, when really it was just XH. In BBS we see that not anyone can just waltz into the castle so that helps that claim a bit.
