Saix and Terra, Vanitas and Xehanort [358/2 Days SPOILERS]

Yo everyone. New to the forum here, mostly because I wanted to discuss a theory my brother-in-law and I shared. Thank you all for reading and responding in advance.

We've all been exposed to the idea that Terra and Xemnas/Xehanort/Master Xehanort are in some way connected, even to say they are the same person. I felt this to be a strong possibility as well. Though thinking about thigns now, here's my hypothesis.

Firstly, Terra and Saix look somewhat similar (Nomura doing the designs, yes some characters will be similar, but it needed to be pointed out anyway)




More similarities include: Similar hairstyles, face shape, body shape, etc.

Terra wields a very large, broad, heavy keyblade while Saix uses a hammer-like blade that is also heavy and broad.

Terra's Fatal Mode is all about hitting heavily as well as his regular fighting style. Saix's enraged mode and attack style attacks similarly.

While a very loose connection, I admit, Terra is latin for Earth, Saix has lunar-linked abilities. The moon orbits the earth and is also made of similar substances.

Saix is number VII to join, making him the first after Xehanort and his apprentices. If Master Xehanort is somehow connected to Xehanort's plot of becoming Heartless and Nobodies, and since Master Xehanort is an aquantence of Terra, its not out of the realm of possibility that Terra is talked into their ranks. Why not go after one of your allies to join your ranks soon after transforming?

While only a conceptual video, in Birth By Sleep (KHII:FM+ bonus ending) we see Terra looking to the Kingdom Hearts moon (Oh there's that moon again) and gaining yellow irises. Saix, besides Xehanort/Xemnas, has yellow irises as well.

Terra and team seem to run into the Organization members prior to their metamorphasis, so it is not impossible that Terra meets Axel/Lea in BBS and at least befriends him.

Unfortunately, Saix is not an anagram of Terra with an X, but its not like we haven't seen name trading and identity theft in Kingdom Hearts before.

My brother-in-law also hypothesized that Vanitas may indeed be the Xehanort we know (and love for some of us) in previous KH installments and is given the name of Xehanort. Think about it. Master Xehanort is defeated in battle, Vanitas is given the name to take Xehanorts place, or maybe its just FFVII all over again?

Could be possible. Which is what this is all about: possibility.

Any comments? Critisisms? Counter-evidence? Supporting evidence? All I want is some discussion from the community on our thoughts and ideas.

I still haven't beaten it (on day 174 or so) and only heard about the Lea comment from my brother-in-law. Guess he just couldn't hold that spoiler back from me :p

Interesting enough, and the hairstyle similarity is very, very close. It'd be interesting if we saw Terra interacting with Axel's somebody at some point.

But to support this theory, I will say this. Saix goes berserk when he submits to the moon, correct? If I recall at the end of the Birth by Sleep KH2FM trailer, wasn't Terra about to go crazy as Master Xehanort summoned Kingdom Hearts? At least, we saw his eyes chance to darkness.

I still personally think Terra has a closer connection to Xehanort than Saix, but I won't deny these "coincidences."

I think many people have tried to make this connection before, but I don't see it. First off, IF Terra was actually Saix's other(like many people thought) Wouldn't Saix have a keyblade? Sora had one, therefore his Nobody Roxas had one. It's also HIGHLY unlikely that Terra has any sort of connection to Saix. Xemnas would be a more likely connection, but again, I highly doubt he becomes the Xehanort that becomes Ansem's apprentice. They look way to different, and if Terra had gone throguh some physical change it wouldn't have been THAT drastic.

Dumb logic. Like saying that Xemnas has to have a keyblade to be connected to Terra and/or MX.

I don't think they look "way too different" at all. In fact, I can see where he's coming from.

On a purely aesthetic level, Saix could be regarded as similar to Terra as Roxas is to Sora, ie he has the variation of a Nobody.

This point is somewhat made moot by the fact that Roxas is intended to look like a replica of Ven rather than Sora's Nobody per se, but I think we have to keep in mind that, originally, Roxas' facial design was created with Sora in mind. It has a degree of variation but still has some parts that make them relatively similar.

I'm not quite defending the theory, really, but I know where he's coming from. There's a reason why people have made this conjecture before.

They don't look like each other at all! Their hairstyle isn't similar, even if you recolor Terra to blue or Saix to brown it look's even less like. Their faceshape isn't like at all, just take a closer look.

I think Axel and Saix friendship has been longer than that

You're saying Saix true name can be Terra since Xemnas didn't use his true name? Xemnas is the leader and could do whatever he wanted. Not sure if he would allow other members to use fake names to.

And Roxas was the ony Nobody to ever still be connected to his heart via Sora still having a body that exists at the same time his Nobody exists. There are extenuating circumstances besides just having a keyblade tieing you together.

I'm just saying its possible, same as the reverse being possible. We've all been tricked by Nomura before, so I'm just trying to think out of the box, I guess.

The apprentice keyblades didn't have chains though so they couldn't have nobodies with keyblades, thats why roxas had one and he was able to. Wait, are you suggesting MX and Terra were allies?

As it stands, it seems unlikely that Vanitas will be Xehanort.
Aside from having next to nothing in common with Xehanort, he's also too young and/or short to be Xehanort.

Master Xehanort is defeated in battle, Vanitas is given the name to take Xehanorts place, or maybe its just FFVII all over again?

I doubt MX will be defeated in battle. Why I do believe he will be "defeated" (though not killed), I do not think it will be in combat with VAT.

Possibly. Terra seem to be talking with Maleficient a lot and we haven't even played the game to know the whole plot. Maybe they become allies? Especially with a possible transformation that Terra goes through.

BBS takes place 10 years prior to KH1. That gives plenty of time for Vanitas to grow up, no? I mean, Riku goes from shrimpy (relatively) to super adult in 150 days. It's not impossible to imagine. What doesn't he have in common? Well, we know next to nothing about Vanitas anyway, so how can we say he has nothing in common?

Vanitas has only 1 year to grow after BBS to turn into a nobody
