Something Interesting 'bout Vanitas

i don't know if anyone has posted anything about this yet. Considering i just made an account today *cough* but anyway.....:31:
I googled Vanitas to see if any kingdom hearts stuff would show up without me typing kh next to it.but he didn't come up,

generally it's wikipedia saying that Vanitas is a type of art. Actually, it means emptiness. In other words, do you guys think there mite b a specific reason as to why Nomura might name him "emptiness"?

anyway that's what got me. So i figured he could b like an empty vessel of darkness or something. He could be something terra will become.

*btw his outfit is a little similar to riku's when he went to the side of darkness*(you know, the hula skirt):lol:

First welcome SuperBomba! :D I just joined about a week ago. Anyway Vanitas meaning emptiness is odd and I like you're theory about him. Oh and not only is Vanitas's outfit close to Riku's he holds his Keyblade basically the same way too.
P.S. hula skirt made me laugh. xD

And maybe he resembles a true manifestation of darkness. Also he may be a symbol of wat terra may become if everyone isn't careful.
Or it could be that in those days you either rolled with the darkness or with the light. And even tho there's darkness in every heart it wasn't as much. And perhaps something terra does allows the birth of people such as riku, who can weild both light and dark. Maybe it's like Adam and Eve and Terra ends up being the one eating the apple and spreading darkness all around. :P

^ That's an interesting way to look at it. That would be weird yet cool if something Terra did caused people like Riku to be born.

Certainly not to the extent that you're implying; this particular article doesn't cite any sources so there is SOME basis in not believing it, but if you look into the matter you'll see the information on the article is accurate anyway. For general definitions and such, it's usually correct.

That asides, Vanitas could potentially be a double entendre because it also means "vanity". Just something to think about.

that information wikipedia has, A LOT OF OTHERS encyclopedia has it, mostly artistic ones.
