Geh, anywho. Your argument of 'master' I see like this: Sora and Riku have a really messed up thing goin' on here. Riku was supposedly [close to confirmed] supposed to be the original wielder. If anything, that should make him a master, right? Wrong, because his heart failed the test. So, the keyblade went to Sora, who's heart managed to pass through the darkness not once, but several times I think.

In the new trailer, Master Eraqus speaks of a Test of the Heart. So, a master's title could be given to those wielders whose hearts passed the test. Terra and Aqua were just about to take thier's and Ven [I think...] was too young for it yet. So, since Sora passed through his own test, everyone calls him 'master'. Terra and Aqua, well we don't know yet.

Look at it like Star Wars. Before the Jedi were destroyed, you had to be a padawan before you could be a full blown Jedi. However, once the Jedi disappeared, Luke went straight to being a Jedi because it was nessisary. It's the same with Sora. If he had been chosen by the Keyblade ten years earlier, he would have become an apprentice and worked toward becoming a master, but because there was no one to teach him, he learned on his own, and achieved Keyblade Master status.

Eh... I just realized I was off topic. Bad me... ON TOPIC, Vanitas and Riku perhaps share thier ties through the darkness which they're both said to mess with. Vanitas was called monster for dwelling in the dark for too long [he looks like the beginnings of a heartless, doesn't he?] And Riku was tainted deeply by Ansem SoD and went through a ton of trouble just to get the deeply controlling bits out.

I think the idea of him becoming a Keyblade Master out of necessity would make sense, seeing as how worlds were being destroyed and someone needed to make it all go away.

Agreed, and at that current point in time Riku would not of been able to face the darkness and be able to control it and still do the right things. Witch is why Sora was choosen at that time instead of the person who was supposed to be the keyblade master witch is Riku.

Maybe Soul Eater wass made from the remains of Vanitas Keyblade. Maybe Maificent reforged it into souleater.
If that was the case that might explain why it became "The Road to Dawn", cuz when riku was able to defeat the darkness in his heart and learn to walk the road between light and dark the keyblade's inner powers were restored and reforged for riku.

This is a logical and highly possible circumstance. The Soul Eater, Way to Dawn, and Vanitas' Keyblade are the only three weapons ever shown to be used in the stance Vanitas uses in the most recent trailer. It's the same stance Riku used in his Dark Suit in KH1. >>;

It's possible that that is a style associated with the Soul Eater. Riku and Vanitas may be connected solely by the fact that they both rode the line in-between, using the Soul Eater as their weapon of choice when they fell to Darkness. Riku, who accepted Darkness but leaned towards Light, transformed the Soul Eater into the Way to the Dawn while Vanitas, who may have accepted Darkness and then attempted to control it (He's Master Xehanort's Apprentice, after all~), transformed the Soul Eater into something darker, more... "evil" so to speak.

Malificent, who has clear power over Darkness, could have then obtained the Soul Eater from Vanitas and gifted it to Riku when he appeared to be following the same path as the old Keyblader.

I don't think the weapon itself would determine a person's style of combat: Riku used the same stance and technique when he had a simple wooden sword. Everything else is certainly valid though.

While I'm not quite sure if Riku had more than one keyblade, dual-wielding is definitely canon. The obvious argument comes from Roxas. Sora's drive forms may not be canon, but dual-wielding absolutely is.
