The JP version is pronounced the same way.

its understandable for japanese pronounciation, but english romanization should count.

i mean, are we goign to expect xion to be pronounced shion for english? hope not IMO.

in english it was pronounced, marlusha.

but i was hopiung for a more cooler and obvious sound to it. like...mar-luke-cia

It wont, but the reason it is pronounced Shion is because the Japanese often have a problem pronouncing certain things. They don't even have a character for the "See", sound. We'll say Xion's name as "Zee-On.", as that's how it's probably intended.+

It is being pronounced correctly. And it'll stay that way.

well...lets just "say" its pronounced correctly....

think about it...most of the "x" sound is pronounced "sh"

zexion=zekushion

xion=shion....

so marluxia most likely = marlusha in japanese, but of of course, re:com was rushed, so we wouldnt know it was intended

i've always pronounced (probably wrongly) Xion's name as Sci-on, like the car.

but back to Saix, i think it would be a LOT easier to know how to pronounce the guy's name if they just spelled it more normally lol. i mean i love the spelling, but everyone pronounces every Org member's name differently.

The umlaut is an English addition so people pronounce his name correctly. It's not a Japanese thing to add it, they'll just be reading his name as サイクス (sa/i/ku/su) anyways.

Since someone mentioned the pronunciation of Xion, I thought I'd bring this up. As we know, it's spelled シオン (shi/o/n) in kana, but most people reading it in English see "Xi" and immediately jump to English pronunciations like "Zee-on" or "Zai-on". God willing it won't be pronounced either one of those way, they sound awful.

On an interesting note, long back in the first days of old, Squaresoft (Old Square Enix) released their first PS2 title, The Bouncer. And while the game totally sucked, not only do we have a main character that looks like Sora on steroids (designed by Nomura indeed), but his name is spelled the same as Xion's in kana, シオン. But how do they pronounce it in English? Sion, or just "See-on".

Will the same route be taken for Xion's name to keep it true to it's pronunciation or will it be Americanized, who knows. They've done a great job keeping the strange names as close to their kana as possible like with Marluxia, but then again we won't be sure till it comes out.

thanks BM. although i do feel the need to point out one thing. do you think most of the people that play KH, no, lets take that down to half of the people that play KH, actually even know how to properly pronounce an umlaut? sure, the intent it there, but it hardly helps.
