For those who didn't like KH2...

Yeah, some people around here are WAY to critical.
What do you expect, art? It's a game.
...that sounded a little harsh. Imean, what do I know about art? I'm just here trying to make a point and talk about how much I love KH.

Anyway, yeah, KH2 did dumb down the battle system and crazify the story, (more than in KH1 and CoM, i mean) but, godammit, I just love those kids and their crazy adventures.
Remember when Sora and Riku were cutting building into quarters and launching the pieces at Xemnas? Where I'm sitting, it gets no better than that.
Anyway, I've loved everything KH has given so far, and I will buy every game, regardless of reviews, until I play one so bad that it completely ruins the series.
AKA, I will never stop playing KH.

I love KH2. It's one of the few sequels out there that did not disappoint me. I'm not sure about the other games, but I expect I'll love them too. The only reason why I might be disappointed would be if my expectations got too high.

I just find the story more important. That doesn't mean i don't like good gameplay, but i really only honestly care about the story. That's why i've only played KH2 all the way through once. Because i only cared about the story =/

I agree, I love the stories in KH1, KH2, and CoM. It's the drive that gets me to keep playing, because I really wanted to know what happened next. Although I don't put as much value on the gameplay, I still think it's important, because no matter how good the story is, if the gameplay is bad or frustrating, chances are higher that I'll stop playing.

Well, fanservice =/= bad game. It still has the potential to be a really good game, one that deserves to be part of the series. We get to see things from the bad guys' perspectives, which is almost guaranteed to be an interesting story.

The 1000 heartless fight, to be honest, will always be one of the things I consider a let down. No Behemoths/Wyverns and ridiculously repetitive. The cutscene was great though.

Yeah, I was let down by that a bit. But Valor From made up for it.

Personally I think people are putting too much faith in Watanabe. It was just two games. I don't think that's quite enough to have a totally selfless devotion to the ideal that everything he makes will be pure genius.

IMO, CoM was the best. It had a deeper story and better character development, which was all I ask for.

To me, KH2 was just as dark (more dark than KH), just as serious, and just as well written as the other games, save a few nitpicks in plot. I think most people had a problem with the execution, similar to how Shimomura composed the music, but, whoever synthesized it did a worse job than in KH1.

I liked the music in KH2. In some ways >KH1, but not completely.

Take it this way. If the KH series was only novels, I can guarantee we would not be seeing this topic right now concerning KH2.

I'd prefer it if the manga was canon.

I don't despise KH2. I enjoyed it, but when I actually gave some time to think about the plot, I ended up going PWP.

To make it fair, I've played FM+ as well. It was a little better Gameplay wise but, the storyline still stank. The new cutscenes only raised more questions if anything. I had no expectations but, if I had the y surely would have been pummeled.

It's Watanabe-written fanservice. I couldn't care less as long as I got my paws on it, even if I have to admit that I, for one, never cared much about the Organization in KH2.

Didn't Nomura say at one time though that working on the novels made him realize how much he left out of the original KH2 game? whereas for KH1, all they handed out were short stories instead of the actual plot. I think that's saying something, so I have to partially agree with you - it's not only Watanabe that makes a game sink or swim, it's how much Nomura messes up on it too.
I'd much rather see Watanabe write up Nomura's screw ups than Nojima any day, though. I agree with his presentation of the story better.

The only difference between this and AkuRoku is that Roxas doesn't really seem to give a damn about Axel in KH2, thus making SoRiku to be plot instead of fanservice. I expect Days to change that too XD

Thing about KH2 is I feel they rushed most of it. Compare the maps KH2 had and how KH1 had them. Most of KH2's maps were one-way and easy to figure out, while KH1 had a lot more intereation with the actual map, and it's possible to actually get lost. Kingdom Hearts I certainly had better maps. I'm hoping they revert back to how they had maps in KH1 as opposed to KH2.

Also, look at the character development. Who is Luxord? Although I have to admit, CoM didn't do much for Lexaeus either. Certainly a ton more than Luxord, though.

I don't want to particularly bash KH2 since I love the game, especially the gameplay. I personally loved the Organization, but I can't say the stories were as good. I know KH1 made the Disney stories a lot more interesting, especially since the Disney characters worked together as antagonists and some of the actual story took place within these worlds, such as Monstro and Neverland. As for KH2, the main stories only took place in Disney Castle and non-Disney worlds from what I recall. I know Luxord and Xaldin had their interaction, but again, it was way too rushed.

EDIT: As for the actual thread, I have confidence in these games. Which worries me because even if they are good, I fear I won't enjoy them as much if I set my expectations too high. I'm hoping that won't be the case. I do know the gameplay probably won't be too great, BBS will probably have the best gameplay despite me wanting 358/2 Days more. Though the story for all three seem to be promising. I might be a bit skeptical for Coded, but it's probably only because it's a Cellphone game opposed to anything else. Either way, the bit we know about it does spark my curiousity.
