Seeing what he's been through, I can't really call him an emo, especially since TLTW Roxas and Days Roxas seem to be far more Sora-like in personality. I actually think we'd get 'another Roxas' in that aspect.

Meh. I'd be fine with "another" roxas but I would like for his personality to be different slightly. At least enough to make him his own person and not be just another Roxas.

well, so far we only managed to see Roxas properly after all the shit hit the fan, so we can't really judge. He seems to be happier in Days.

It's not like he's "only" happy because he has friends. that's a very valid reason, and said friend's disappearance (Xion) would make for the emo we know today.
Then again, he forgot about her and had Hayner, Pence and Olette as new friends, so he was cheery again.
It's more that he was being appropriately Sora-ish, instead of being "ooc" with his friends, imo

actually i think the friends are the only thing that make him happy, based around KH's central themes of friendship and all. Also the friendship with axel was the only thing that made him feel like he had a heart, perhaps it was the same for roxas.

DS used to be in the VAT group but then MX corrupted him to darkness, and the same thing is happening to Terra.

Plausible, considering Terra's grudge against MX has something more to do with Ven and MX's turn towards darkness.
That and the two masters more then likely know each other quite well and by extension VAT know MX to an extent (Obviously).
