question?

o'k the the reason i post tis here is because it has to do with unbirth's. you remember those white things in the underworld, if you hit them they would drop alot of mp orbs? now were those souls or were they something else? now can a soul be corrupted by darkness? this all has to do with an unbirth theory i'm working on.

I think they were supposed to be souls.
Or something like that.
But that could be something world specific.
I really dont think when people die their souls fly all the way to the Underworld. =/

The only thing that can be corrupted by Darkness is the Heart.

The body can be corroded by darkness, too.

We do know they are souls that has passed on into the underworld, that much is true.
But we do not know if Souls alone can be corrupted by darkness.

They never really explained what they were.
As I can see it, Nomura added them to help people with the Underworld Curse because supposedly not having Drive Forms is a really big handicap. The game prolly would've been more fun if it was left the way it was.

The Unbirths most likely have nothing to do with that small detail.

Nobodies can be swallowed by Darkness, but they can't be corrupted by it.
But perhaps it's just me that thinks of that as a difference, rofl.
Swallowed = it being swallowed.
Corroded = it being affected by the darkness which mutates it in a way (how hearts get corroded and become Heartless)
Perhaps i'm just being nitpicky though D:

You're right, there is clearly a difference.

As of now the soul by itself can't be or hasn't been yet.

We don't know anything about the soul at all, besides the fact that when it leaves life gives away to death.
So no one can say for sure.
But so far, only the Heart can be corroded/corrupted by Darkness, imo.

I guess "corroded" is a bad term. Bodies can be affected, in some way, by darkness.

I'm pretty sure, anyway.
