The Voice

If this theory has already been thought up, please do not flame me for it. I had no idea.

I was rereading Vol. 1 of the "Kingdom Hearts" manga, and at the beginning, just like in the game, there's a voice that talks to Sora. Most people have just speculated it was the Keyblade, and I thought that for awhile, too. It makes sense. But then inspiration hit me.Maybe it's not the Keyblade, but Ven.

What got me thinking of this was when it said "you hold the most powerful weapon of them all." Why would the keyblade be so arrogant about itself? The I thought that it sounded like someone who's had experience and knowledge about the keyblade. Like, oh, i don't know, a previous Keyblade Master?

So in short, I believe that The Voice that talks to Sora [and Roxas] is Ven.

What do you guys think?

Unless the fact the Keyblade is the most powerful weapon?
Which I feel it is.

I don't think its Ven.
We've heard his voice.
Its an old voice.

I believe? Or am I confused?

i... dont think we ever "heard" the voice........ or am i wrong.. huh. anyways why shouldn't the keyblade be arrogant of it self? its pretty strong....

I really suspect the keyblade, highly doubt it's either Mickey nor Ven.

Some thought that the voice was referring to his heart, not the Keyblade.

^Agreed, given all the talk throughout the games about how the heart possesses power and light that can never be extinguished and so forth.

The voice might be Kingdom Hearts itself, for all we know. It depends on just where the keyblades originate, which we have no idea.

Nomura: YEEESSSSSS????? :-D
SE Staff: The fans, they...want to know who the voice is.
Nomura: The what now?
SE Staff: The voice from the first game! During the tutorial.
Nomura: Oh, pffft, that. It's just a game mechanic. There's no one important behind it.
SE Staff: I'm sure the fans will be thrilled, sir.

I think Nomura originally planned it for it to be the keyblade speaking. I also think that once VAT came around (in his mind), that he's planning to retcon that idea (since it was never confirmed anyway) and throw Ven into that role. It makes sense, and it's creative construction in a way.

That would explain why only Sora and Roxas have had "Awakenings"...

...and why Ven is supposedly located in the Room of Awakening.

So in every other game out there, the guy telling you how to move, fight, etc. holds major importance?

Maybe he did. Correct me if I'm wrong, but from what I remember, time froze when Roxas had his awakening. Maybe that occured to Riku as an event, but the moment was instantaneous to the rest. That's a wild theory though, so there's no reason to believe it, I guess.
