Maybe he did. Correct me if I'm wrong, but from what I remember, time froze when Roxas had his awakening. Maybe that occured to Riku as an event, but the moment was instantaneous to the rest. That's a wild theory though, so there's no reason to believe it, I guess.

To be fair, they're the only ones whose Awakenings we got to see.
Who knows, maybe BBS will show us Mickey's?
And Days or Coded or KH3 or whatever - Riku's?

I donno about TAV awakening, though, seeing how their Keyblades by definition seem to be different - Keychain-lacking.

I wouldn't really rule Mickey out as an option, since he did reach out to Riku's Heart throughout the game only the Darkness blocked his callings. Maybe he realized the Keyblade moved on to Sora so he talked to him?
Him being in the realm of Darkness could also explain the voice being heard again in the final resting place next to the save point - he knew what lies ahead.

The Keyblade itself, Ven (which might just be one and the same with the Keyblade), or Mickey all seem likely candidates to me.

If you mean "heard" the voice to be literally hearing it, then no, we didn't.

But if you mean if "hearing" the voice was ever addressed- that is, if the voice is canon or simply an in-game instructor- then yes, we did. How? In the Final Rest of KH1, right before Sora goes to fight Xehanort's Heartless on Destiny Islands (where the Door was), he hears the voice and says that it sounded "familiar." Donald and Goofy, however, did not hear the voice.

Obviously the voice was not originally intended to be a character, but that's a direction I think they could take. Ven would make perfect sense, especially since Sora is apparently the only one who could hear it (and Roxas).

I was rereading Vol. 1 of the "Kingdom Hearts" manga, and at the beginning, just like in the game, there's a voice that talks to Sora. Most people have just speculated it was the Keyblade, and I thought that for awhile, too. It makes sense. But then inspiration hit me.Maybe it's not the Keyblade, but Ven.

What got me thinking of this was when it said "you hold the most powerful weapon of them all." Why would the keyblade be so arrogant about itself? The I thought that it sounded like someone who's had experience and knowledge about the keyblade. Like, oh, i don't know, a previous Keyblade Master?


So in short, I believe that The Voice that talks to Sora [and Roxas] is Ven.

~ THANK YOU. i'm just sorry it wasn't me who decided to post a theory about this first. i agree with you totally and completely. i most certainly have suspitions of that voice being ven's. but get this! there was somethin' else i noticed. during roxas' dive to the heart, shortly before fighting the twilight thorn, there's somebody in a black cloak. you have to pay very close attention to see what i'm talking about. maybe it's him, maybe it isn't. i don't know. i just thought i'd make it known.

It's either Kingdom Hearts speaking through the Keyblade or the Keyblade itself, that's my two cents on the matter

I don't think it's Ven exactly, but more like his heart. Though, that's probably what everyone else means to say.
