The research at Castle Oblivion was to try and discover memories could be used to regain their hearts. That's why Namine was so important. She could assemble and take apart the links in the chains of memory, and possibly follow those links to the ones that remained in their hearts. There were certain memories that the Nobodies did not have access too. Axel tells Sora this in CoM and Xemnas also tells Sora near the end of KH II that he cannot remember all the things that were in his heart when he was whole. |

| KH Mobile > BBS. | No. The purpose of Castle Oblivion was to discover the importance of memories. Nobodies use their memories to form their identity, their personality and are crucial to them. The org was trying to use Nami as a way to understand that, and why they have their own unique powers and what not. It wasn't as a way to discover how to regain their hearts, because the memories of Nobodies are stored inside of them. As far as we know. |
