that's just how it's pronounced.
her name is シオン (as seen in magazine scans)
シ=shi
オ=o
ン=n
so yeah, that's why people been typing it out as "shion".

DS and Shion related? I don't think so. Nope. . Not yet anyway. I don't think it has been confirmed and all. But I'm pretty somebody else knows a better answer then this. And the DS is taller and a guy and she's a girl and probably shorter.
