I'm surprised someone hasn't already said this.

In Greek, Ino was a goddess of the sea. Rearrange Ino and add an X, and you get Xion.

There's so much evidence pointing to her being Aqua (and at this point, we all know she is, cmon), that I'm surprised there are still people trying to argue about it.

It correlates with the "name" pattern: Aqua=Water, Kairi=Sea, Ino=Sea.

I think she's the combination of Ven's memory of Aqua and Sora's memory of Kairi that "flowed out" of Sora.

Many people have theorized this.

Wow, that's very observant of you, Ultima Scorpio!
With all of these connections, I think it's quite apparant that Xion is Aqua's nobody, even though I hoped that Nomura would be a bit more creative than that.

I'm afraid it's been mentioned many times. :bored: And no, Ino wasn't the goddess; she turned into a goddess and gained a new name.

Namine... essentially means "ocean wave"... Kairi means "Sea"... get it?

I'll have you know, I was the first person here to mention the connection :closedeyes:. Also, Leukothea was an essentially reborn, or changed, Ino; not quite the same person anymore. I started this due to the symbolistic connection between this change and the changes Nobodies undertake.

That was a different scenario. He took that name from his disgraced teacher. Xion would be lying about her "identity", but Xehanort completely changed his name to Ansem.

Not "completely" he was using it basically as an alias seeing as how it isnt his real name.
It doesn't change all that much, the little differences that are there.
Point is, it isn't the first time we have a seen a character use a name that wasn't theirs.

No. Xion is only said to sound similar to Kairi. That was it, and it wasnt an official statement it was just what some bloggers thought.
