I don't see why the theory she might be connected to Kairi is so awful. The form of her keyblade is not nearly as important at the fact she has one.

Maybe it's because Kairi sucks...
Nomura keeps trying to make Kairi more important to the plot by making characters connected to her important, but not her herself. It's just getting lame.

Well, Riku had to obtain that keyblade Kairi used somewhere it's not like owning a heart, You know Riku can also weild the Kingdom Key. I mean why would Riku have such a girly keyblade, it's possible someoneelse may have been weilding it. It probably had a former weilder. Who's probably still capable of weilding such a keyblade, Xion was probably able to weild Aquas keyblade too. You don't exactly own keyblades they choose masters themselves and I think that they choose whoevers heart is strong enough and holds a connection to the chosen weilders heart. I don't think they chose a weilder by themselves and there is very few weilders left after all...

Riku got that Keyblade by thinking of home. Which I already said. Memories made the keychain. As for why Riku has such a girly Keyblade... hehe.
