Could Terra accepting the power of darkness be a connection with when Riku did, or is it just a coincidence?

I think its another similarity the two share.
Add that to the fact both Terra and Riku were used to collect the POHs...
It very much seems the same story is being used again, albeit with a twist.

Yep.
He learns MX is pursuing the POHs, so he decides to chase after the POHs for Maleficent, in hopes of finding MX.

Well, we don't know if he's doing it for Maleficent. They might come to that agreement at some point.

Terra could possibly be taking them to an undisclosed location just to attract MX, but with the PoH safely tucked away.
Who knows of Terra's true motives but he's working with maleficent supposedly.

Yeah, i guess. Terra seems to be working with Malificent, but i dont think he will be tricked as easily as Riku.

I remember in the DK∑7313 trailer Terra said he'd have to chase down hearts of pure light to find Master Xehanort, he may actually not be on Maleficent's side, just tricking her.

I don't think he was tricked at all, I assume Terra is using Maleficent and Maleficent is working for MX believing that MX will grant her her reward all the while he's controlling her for his own purposes.

i dont see maleficent as working for ANYBODY. She is far too power hungary to do that. Also a quote I like (But dont remember who said it) Says "History may not repeat itself, but it sure does rhyme a lot."
