Falling to the Darkness... Blinded by the Light?

Or whatever the heck they'd wanna call it.

We've been introduced in a way to Nothingness via the Nobodies, made up of neither Light nor Dark.

We've also been thoroughly introduced with Darkness. We know its general attributes, what it can do to a person's Heart, and how it just about wants to chomp up everything.

And then we had Riku show up and break it all apart by saying that lol, Darkness doesn't have to be bad.

The obvious conclusion is, naturally -

Light doesn't have to be Good, either.

There're some points to suggest as much. Most obvious one is Sora going on a killing spree, even with the Organization being bad (let's not go into that one please).
Then we have MX go on about Darkness being bad - while he comes out as more than enough of a bad guy in the BBS trailers.

As ironic as it might be, Light is actually one of the things we know the least about, and it basically sums up to "it's there in the Darkness" but never had more... light... spilled on it beyond that since it was never a point of interest.

So how about it? Will we get to see the missing poing in the Darkness-Nothing-Light triangle?
Or will it be yet another point of issue to go down the many wasted possible plot-subjects in KH?

Opinions please, and no, this isn't another "lol I think I know what the next enemies" are, but more on a debate about whether or not Light will become the "new-Darkness" as a concept, and if so - how will it differ from it.

Hmm. I'm reminded of MX's Quote "Cross the wall between light and dark to me".
I had assumed he was talking about crossing in-between to him, darkness.
But what if he was talking about light? O______O

Well, MX was also the one who said that those who use/fall to the Darkness aren't worthy of being Masters of the Keyblade - maybe he saw Terra 'falling' and called him 'back' :3

There is not truly a "Nothingness" element, minus Xemnas's powers. What Nothingness is is really a classification of beings. Nobodies are neither accepted by the light, nor the darkness, but they wield both since they have no fear of losing their hearts because they don't have any. They don't wield nothingness, once again, minus Xemnas though.

No one ever said that all darkness is evil and all light is good. Darkness is just...Eerie. It has a dark nature that naturally leads to corrupting, at least in Kingdom Hearts, and will eventually consume you, most definitely making it dark, while using light doesn't have any true repurcusions (sp?). The only real person that you see using light as a form of actually harming is Roxas and Queen Minnie. Light is really just an escence while darkness is the same, though darkness amplifies your powers, though if light does this we do not know. It certainly does keep you "pure," no virgin jokes please as I'm being serious, but whether it gives you advanced powers is to be seen. I mean, Queen Minnie could use it offensively, but she's the only real example since I don't really count Roxas because it was his fighting element and he was a Nobody, an abnormalty. So basically, I'd even dare to say that darkness just gives you easily obtainable power, while being adept at light wielding might be a little more difficult. Think about it, most villians that want power turn to darkness to make themselves stronger. Maybe they don't go to light because of it's extreme difficulty of wielding.

I don't really have a reason as to why there aren't many adept light users, there just aren't really.

I kind of disagree in an aspect. I don't believe Nothingness is a classification of being. I believe it is like an element, similar to Light and Dark. These reason this is because:

"You need to wrap yourselfs in nothingness, and then you can avoid the Organization's eyes and smell."

Your right...Light could be Bad as well as Darkness can be Good. (Ex: Roxas acted badly, by joining Organization XIII, but he used Light.) This theory is good, and I agree with it. I mean, we've seen the trailer for BBS from FM+...And who's to say that MX is not actually the good guy, and VAT are the bad ones?

There's always the possibility.

I was talking more as a concept, not an active 'element'

Go replay KH1 to Riku's part in CoM XD;

You don't know that because we've never been told anything about Light.
I'd say being a PoH is a heavy reprecossion, seeing how one way to look at it is a maimed Heart (PoH =\= strong Heart, rather - a pure one that doesn't indicate strength).

Think about it, most villians that want power turn to darkness to make themselves stronger. Maybe they don't go to light because of it's extreme difficulty of wielding.

Yet on the other hand Darkness is far more liable to make you lose your Heart. It happened, effectively, to each and every one of the Organization members (thus they became Nobodies to begin with) and even to Maleficent.
Maybe wielding the Light 'eats you up' faster so we've never seen anything like it yet - we blinked and it was gone

Well, part of why this is in the 'future' section - there were also very few Keyblade wielders at the start of the series but now more and more are popping up. Going along with you saying that to wield the Light you need a strong Heart, it seems to make sense the two are related.

Interesting idea SufferingAngel. And what Mikazuiki said about Darkness is eerie reminded me of the thing King Mickey said in TWTNW. Xemnas asked "Why do you hate the darkness?" And Mickey replied " Aw we dont hate it. Its just kinda scary." So I guess you can say that you can use Light or Darkness for your own reasons (Good or Bad) and they have their own benefits and consequences. I like this theory.

Just a simple thought, but maybe MX, walks in twilight?

I mean he says darkness is bad, and the whole those who use/fall in darkness aren't worthy of being masters of the keyblade, doesn't make sense, because isn't he a master of the keyblade, or uses the keyblade as his weapon,
yet he is assumed to use darkness, or his dark, so why is he worthy of using the keyblade?

^It seems more likely that Terra walks in Twilight and MX is in one of the other halfs of it. his line to Terra "Cross the wall between light and dark to me" seems to imply Terra is twilight, while he is either dark or light.

It's most likely for Terra to be Twilight, like Riku...because of when Terra picked up the Kingdom Key in the Gathering Video...And beings Riku was the original person chosen to hold that Keyblade, shows that maybe Terra and Riku walk similar paths to each other.

Riku walks in Twilight because he's too strong to remain in the Darkness, and self-conscious enough to realize that even if he can control it, he wants to return to the Light.
One thing about Terra and Riku though is that even if they are both Twilight, I wonder - while Riku heads towards Dawn, I have to wonder about the direction in which Terra walks - maybe it's Dusk.

On a side note about MX's "border between Light and Darkness", who knows, might just sit well with the whole MX + Terra = our Xehanort theory and that would explain nicely Xemnas's Nothing - they cancelled each other out.
