And Darkness in itself has never ben said to be evil, it's the effect that is has on people that makes them do things that people see as bad. And Light seems to be irrevocably, no matter what, considered to be good. But what if there's also a bad aspect to the Light?

Eg: A Princess of Heart is so 'Light-filled' that they consider everything other than themselves with even the scarcest bit of Darkness to be evil.

Thus why I like to call the effect "blinded by the Light" - once you're filled with so much Light you can't see right from wrong, good from bad, friend from foe.
It actually had a slight point of basis in the games with how Kairi wanted to leave Riku behind on the islands at the start of KH1 - especially her but also Sora were more 'Light' whereas Riku mere days afterwards brought in the Heartless and ruined their world.
However, that would step over her and Riku supposedly being friends, seeing how she prefered to run away from him than try and help - since he wasn't "good enough".

We've been introduced in a way to Nothingness via the Nobodies, made up of neither Light nor Dark.

We've also been thoroughly introduced with Darkness. We know its general attributes, what it can do to a person's Heart, and how it just about wants to chomp up everything.

And then we had Riku show up and break it all apart by saying that lol, Darkness doesn't have to be bad.

The obvious conclusion is, naturally -

Light doesn't have to be Good, either.

There're some points to suggest as much. Most obvious one is Sora going on a killing spree, even with the Organization being bad (let's not go into that one please).
Then we have MX go on about Darkness being bad - while he comes out as more than enough of a bad guy in the BBS trailers.

As ironic as it might be, Light is actually one of the things we know the least about, and it basically sums up to "it's there in the Darkness" but never had more... light... spilled on it beyond that since it was never a point of interest.

So how about it? Will we get to see the missing poing in the Darkness-Nothing-Light triangle?
Or will it be yet another point of issue to go down the many wasted possible plot-subjects in KH?

Opinions please, and no, this isn't another "lol I think I know what the next enemies" are, but more on a debate about whether or not Light will become the "new-Darkness" as a concept, and if so - how will it differ from it.

We're actually hoping that Kairi becomes a Light Villian. That's waaay to fan-ish, but still...one can hope. In that way, shr can become useful.

Light and Darkness

Two paramount forces - both of which brought about the existence of the KH universe.

Yin and Yang

The concept of yin and yang describes two opposing and, at the same time, complementary, (as in 'completing') aspects of any one phenomenon or comparison of any two phenomena. Darkness (Yin) and Light (Yang).

Darkness (Yin) usually represents "shadows, cold, slow, etc.
Light (Yang) usually represents "sunshine, warmth, restless, etc.

Neither can be defined as good or evil; it depends on the person using it. A balance between both elements is pivotal, to en extent. Too much of anything isn't necessarily a good thing.

Balance

A point between two opposite forces that is desirable over purely one state or the other, such as a balance between the metaphysical Law and Chaos — law (Light) by itself being overly controlling, chaos (Darkness) being overly unmanageable, balance being the point that minimizes the negatives of both.

Without balance, an individual solely possessing either one of the elements could ultimately lose him/herself to it. In Maleficent's case, she completely lost herself to the darkness once her heart was unlocked to the said darkness. In Kairi's case, I believe she'll inevitably give way to her light, practically blinding those before her.

"Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely" -- in this case, elements.

With no trace of darkness in her heart, she could potentially be a threat, a la doing something without realizing what she was doing was wrong. For example: Destroying the source of darkness - Kingdom Hearts - which, in return, stops hearts from being created.

Agreed. Kairi could upset that balance of Light and Dark and screw everything up. So unless you have a fair balance of Light and Dark, you have the risk of becoming lost in Light or Darkness.

I can see Kairi going of the edge like that. -imagines it- The Princesses of Heart become the villains because there is too much light.

That was how this problem of the Darkness started anyways. Everybody wanted the Light for themselves and started to fight over it.

Kinda reminds me of some FF game where in the past the Light was dangerous and the Warriors of Dark stopped the Light then hundreds of years later, Darkness became dangerous and the Warriors of Dark became corrupt or something. I think it was FFIII. And the Warriors chosen by the Light had to fight the Cloud of Darkness...Or something.
