I do remember that KH had to be closed from both sides. One side led Riku to darkness, and the other side led Sora to the crossroads.

(Speculation)At the same token im not exactly sure, but someone from BBS may have had to have fallen in darkness, while the other would be in the crossroads which CANON or not used to be the canyon area we see in the KH2 and KH2FM+ secret ending, BBS trailer, and Fight with Lingering Sentiment

And since Roxas knew of her and Namine went shuffling through her memories, we can assume she knows of. And since DiZ kept both a close eye on the Organization and obviously talked to Namine, we can assume he knows of him?

Not to mention, we know that she actually goes out of the castle and takes an active role.

Major flaw with your theory that blows it to bits: Xemnas doesn't care about the Organization. When the member count grew low, he didn't care at all.
Xemnas probably never though he'd be beaten by Sora.

Not to mention, the goals of the Order were to reclaim their hearts and according to Xemnas, create a new world. Why would he take countermeasures in the event he was killed?

I think the 14th is a Nobody. Partially because we know her to be strong and with the cloak, we can speculate she uses the dark corridors as well.

Don't only think about it as the crossroads, but also the CO world. In Sora's case I mean.
And we know that world is close to the darkness.

But they're very useful tools. Plus, when Xemnas says "Perhaps I'm all that ever was...", he seemed a bit disappointed, like he expected the other members to do better. Oh well. I don't really care.

Xehanort is more intrigued on regaining his memories. It was one of the reasons he continued on tampering with hearts. Gaining a heart was only part of that success, and the Organization was his shield of followers, as the heartless were to Ansem SoD

In KH1, Sora gets sent to the crossroads AFTER Kingdom Hearts was closed and the worlds become separate.
In the trailer, Kingdom Hearts (If that definitely is Kingdom Hearts) was opened at the crossroads.

Why do you say Aqua though? Out of all people to fall to darkness...

Kairi left at DI

Sora left at Cross Roads

and Riku left in darkness

It could be with VAT

Ven somehow being on DI in a different way, Roxas being Soras nobody (even though their different charactes)

Terra left at crossroads

and Aqua left in darkness

Xemnas wanted so much more than just a heart. He was using the Organization to get what he really wanted - power. He wanted to create new worlds, get ultimate power, and he didn't care if it came at the expense of the other members at all. It's been made clear that Xemnas always had exterior motives that he didn't let the other members in on, such as the Rooms of Sleep and Awakening. I wouldn't put it past Xemnas to bring a non-Nobody into the Organization if it meant it would help one of his goals.

The other side didn't really lead Riku to darkness... for he was already in that darkness.
The other side did lead to the crossroads though, and in turn, Castle Oblivion.

I agree with you and think that the Gather Place/Sunset Horizons/What have you is the cross roads. In the first video it seems very flat and with not many landscapes and then MX creates those landscapes by changing the earth. At the end, they could easily go back to the way they were. IMO anyways.

Because, normally death doesn't affect the number like how it's been said a few times on this thread already, but what if she never had any intention on truly following the organization? If Naminè wasn't ruled out, it would seem very possible. Aqua was also ruled out because Nomura said it's someone new. Aqua (or at least Aqua's nobody) would make a lot of sense to me too, since I believe MX possessed Terra. Terra became Xehanort and eventually banished his new teacher to steal his identity. He became the heartless and nobody that started the organization and I personally would think that Aqua, being a spy, wanted revenge on MX and that the best way to do it would be to attack from inside by joining Organization XIII. Though, obviously, this is only speculation.

Aqua is considered new.
When he says it's a new character, he means one that hasn't appeared in KH1, CoM or KH2.
Plus, he has never said it was a new character anyways.
