Even though I personally think that DS is the BBS equivalent of Riku...

We all know that the Heartless we're familiar with weren't created until after the time of BBS.

But in the scene in the end of Sunset Horizons, we're all familiar with the scene where DS comes out of MX. Obviously.

But anyways, what I'm trying to get at. Is it at all possible the MX has the possible to divide himself into a Heartless and a Nobody and reunify at will? Or perhaps similar creatures?

Before I get attacked by people saying 'Heartless don't exist in BBS, so he coun't be turned into a Heartless/Nobody!", remember that one only has to give into the Darkness in order to become a Heartless. IE: The six apprentices.

Because of the color of MX's eyes and the information Nomura provided up regarding eye color, we know that MX apparently tangled with the darkness a bit. So I don't think its impossible.

But why would MX choose to divide himself into a Heartless and a Nobody?
I'm thinking power. Firstly, he would be up against multiple opponents. And being a keyblade wielder, that would allow both parts of him to be able to use the Keyblade. I'd assume that would help him a little bit.

Random: Also, if we find out that somehow MX or DS is a part of the Xehanort, AtW's apprentice (which is very likely), I think that the knowledge MX had of how to create Heartless/Nobodies (according to my theory) would be very useful in creating the Heartless we are now familiar with. Yes, the apprentice did lose his memory, I know that. But if any of the memory returned, or Xehanort still had the aptitude for darkness he did as MX/DS/Whatever..

I don't know.

I made a theory on this right after SH/BbS was leaked all that long time ago. (which I don't believe anymore)
I even made a youtube video for it in March of '07.

I wouldn't put so much thought into Sunsent Horizons, because... well, you know, it's only a concept video. I don't think the splitting of DS and MX was necessarily canon -- it just implies a connection, if you will.

Also, heartless and nobodies don't exist in BBS's time period. Yeah, submitting to darkness would turn you into a heartless, but you can't really become a heartless if they don't exist. You'd just be a 'monster infused with darkness.' (DS reference) ;]

that makes sense but wat if MX was the first of the heartless even though i kinda doubt that myself.

And just because Heartless weren't being manufactured at the time doesn't mean that its impossible for oe to become a Heartless.

Some strange power or an aptitude towards darkness?
I don't have any solid proof to back that up besides random guessing.

And yeah. I thought I had heard that too. I thought it would be a scene at one point in BBS towards the end.

maybe because of the dakness that he has he can make himself act like a heartless being able to take his own heart at will.

DS is shorter than MX.
I believe it's been proven that Nobodies are the same heights as their somebodies.

i dont understand how one could explain why a seemingly natural phenominon (people losing hearts and becoming heartless) could just suddenly start holding true after a set time period, unless something was done that like (infected?) every single person in every single world, thus enabling them to become heartless.
it always rather bugged me.

Xehanort created the Heartless by mutating the way that darkness would normally swallow a heart (or something to that effect).
Before then when Darkness swallowed a person they would simply die, instead of becoming a heartless.
As far as I know, if someone knows better please enlighten.

I don't think it killed them; I think darkness was just like light until Xehanort created the heartless, meaning, you would stay the same, only have the powers of darkness.

Well, Roxas technically wasn't (he was the height of 15 year old Sora, but Sora was 14 at the time). I doubt that really applies though.

And I also doubt MX would choose himself as an apprentice. We know he has one. And it's assumed at this point to be DS, which is extremely probable.
