Who is Dark Soldier (DS)?

i think its Xehanort because he splits from MX and Xehanort is his other half so that must be him...if not it should be a new character.

Buit the fact that you said DS is Ven's heartless and Roxas is Ven's Nobody made complications because Roxas is Sora's Nobody and there were not Heartless/Nobodies then.

That's a concept video, meaning the part when DS splits from MX is most likely not canon and more likely foreshadowment of their fusing, just like how the keyblades served as a connection tool...

Also, DS =/= Xehanort or a clone...
DS is too short to be Xehanort... DS is also shorter than MX...
Thus, leaving DS = a new character...

I think it coulds be Xehanort in a sense, but i don't think it's the Xehanort as we know him in KH1-KH2.

i picture DS looking somewhat like Gaurdian. I noticed how very humanoid the Guardians face really is. And i believe that he somehow changed or reverted into the Xehanort we know. Check my theory on how.

I said 'MX Other' because I think the DS is maybe a created being by MX or a fooled kid Riku-like, that MX uses as a failsafe.

Like, if ever MX came to die, the DS will automatically receives MX hearts, thus reviving MX, basing on the fact that Riku's purpose for Xehanort's heartless was to be the vessel of his heart, and for this Riku wore the Dark Armor.
