a small speculation

I'm not trying to prove anything here. Just thought I'd point something out.

Riku = land
Sora = sky
Kairi = sea

Terra = earth
Ven = wind
Aqua = water

Earth can be found in land. Wind can be found in the sky. Water can be found in the sea. This has to mean something, doesn't it? VAT rests in SRK, perhaps? But I think that's an overused observation.

Now whatever happened to fire? Fire can be found inside earth. So if we were to assume Xehanort represents fire, that would mean that the whole Terra + MX thing is true, correct?

Earth and fire play a part in creating land. Therefore, we can assume Riku is connected to Xehanort in one way or another. That would explain why he and Xehanort are the only ones in the game with silver hair, correct?

Again, just a small speculation. Probably already said before.

They are domains of the earth... Fire isn't a domain, so we won't see someone named "fire" or whatever...
As for the similar names, it's just to sow connection...

why is it that the main characters dont match up.

Sora=Sky;Terra=Earth

~ sorry, but i don't think the terra=mx thing has anything to do w/ the element of fire. for me, the element of fire just brings me back to wonderin about the "mysterious whereabouts" of axel's other. axel, in my belief, is too much of an important character for him to be killed off and never return to the series after what happened to him in kh2.

The relation was discovered when their names came out.

Molten Lava is inside the core of the Earth and DS' element is fire then MX' is earth then the relation is possible,DS a part of MX as how Molten Lava is inside the core so DS is inside MX.

Sora was an alternative that wasn't Terra's choice but rather the Keyblade's because he possess a heart equal to Riku's (or a connection with Ven). But makes you wonder...how the hell did Maleficent knew Riku was the chosen master?
