anyway, a nobody becomes whole when they join with their "other". When they fade they become nothing, as axel said to sora after defeating vexen "we dont die, we're nobodies, now he's just nothing instead of nobody" i dont know if that line is in the game but its in the manga

That came from CoM the game. Well Axel said "Now you can be nothing instead of nobody."

But anyway, even though it's not confirmed, that's how. Otherwise he wouldn't have been able to become whole again.

It's been semi-confirmed, with the interview with Nomura that says a Nobody becomes whole if their Heartless was destroyed before they fade, causing the heart, body, and soul to unite. And apparently in one of the KH2 novels, Namine confirms that this is what happened to Axel after he faded.

That's kind of what I was thinking. Ven's heart reformed, and was placed into Sora. Roxas looks like Ven because he is the Nobody of the person that Ven's heart went... actually, that makes less sense now that I think about it.
