I agree with you. They all have a brain, and I've never seen evidence that any of the members are outright stupid. No, not even Demyx. Just because he's not the best fighter does not make him a total moron.

Zexion and Axel appear to be the cleverest, with Luxord coming pretty close. Vexen, Xemnas, and perhaps Saix appear to be the most knowledgeable. Xigbar's pretty clever too, eavesdropping on Xemnas and all that. Xaldin manages to manipulate the Beast. Roxas was pretty good at finding answers and putting two and two together during the prologue of KH2. Lexaeus strongly suspected that Marluxia, Larxene, and Axel were up to no good. Marluxia formulated that whole plan to trap Sora. Larxene knows how to really irritate her enemies, and Demyx knows when it's best to make a quick get away!

So, I'm not sure who would be considered the smartest out of all of them.

well put! except for Larxene, she is just an annoying bitchy girl. but yes, i believe they all have their own strengths in the field of inteligence. I really think that overall, they all managed to die, which makes them not smart. A smart person wouldnt die (they would find a way to live!) except maybe for Axel and Roxas...sacrafice ya know. But yea, all smart in their own way

i'm assuming it's zexion or vexen because zexion's weapon is a book which is somewhat a stereotype of a "ahem" nerd or a smart person and vexen is a scientist. however there are some people who like to read books and aren't that smart.

On-topic: To answer the thread's question, I'll make a little comparison between KH and Death Note.

1st - Xemnas

I'd compare Xemnas to Light Yagami, for obvious reasons. Just as Light is technically a victim of the Death Note, Xemnas is a victim of KH. Xemnas is intelligent, but he doesn't boast or displays his intellect - rather he insinuates. He's also the leader of the Org. XIII, can't be a leader without smarts.

2nd - Zexion

Zexion is somewhat a combination between Near and L. He has crazy emo hair and gestures while he deduces like L, but he also has a level-headedness about him that reminds me of Near. He's a clever one.

3rd - Vexen

Vexen is just the opposite of Zexion - he's inducive, meaning he makes inductions rather than deductions. Furthermore, unlike Zexion, Vexen displays more emotion (contradiction, huh?), so I'd probably compare him to Mello. He's smart, but he let's his... umm, feelings(?) get in the way.

First, it depends on where Belle hit him, and how hard. Second, he wasn't expecting her to do that, so he probably reacted partly out of surprise. Third, being physically weak does not make a person stupid.
