Default Theory on 'growing' levelling up -> Oblivion

You know how Nomura said that the new KH levelling up system would be like 'growing'? The only closest resemblance system i could think of is to Elder Scrolls 4 Oblivion! In Oblivion you have to increase several skill levels of your abilities, and each ability that is increased fills up the EXP gauge, until you increase particular number levels of abilities then you may level up. I think KH BBS level up system would not be far from this

Sorry if it's too long

First, Morrowind > Oblivion

And secondly, this seems like it would be way to in depth for a KH game. Their fan base is largely children and young adults, and that would be too much involvement for some of them.

Question Re: Theory on 'growing' levelling up -> Oblivion

Exactly. I just tried to read the first post and my brain's going...

Too...much INFOR...mation..must...abo..RT!

That system would be way to complicated for teenagers, let alone children, to understand! I could understand maybe making it a bit more complex such as leveling up certain aspects (abilities, summons, forms, etc.) in order to get another level up, but that system of "growing." Doesn't seem to make much sense.:thumbdown:

I really like the leveling system as it is but a new system could really give the game a new cool feeling. Your system as you describe it is kinda hard to understand for children in my opinion.

I dont think that its too complex for kids to understand. If they can play COM then this shouldnt be a problem. It might be interesting like this though I prefer the original KH style of levelling. When they delve too much into strategy I begin to dislike it. I liked KH because it required quick-thinking, while a levelling system like this requires deep thought.

well it could be a simplified part. like you may get points you can allocate to whatever skill or attribute

like in dragonquest VIII

my theory is that the growing system has to do with VATs armor. Look at Terras left shoulder. He is wearing the red and gold armor from the FM+ ending. I think over time you receive more armor. This has been talked about many times before though

It's possible that the growth system to could be like when you defeat enemies, exp is given, and you spend those exp on whatever stat you would like to upgrade or whatever abilities you would want.

It won't be complicated for most, really. My brain yawns at a system as complexity-lacking as this. And I'm under 13. o.O

At any rate, it would be nice for you to get EXP everytime you increase a skill's level. The KH way of leveling is too simple.

It lacks any real way to actually enjoy it. Sure, it's simple, but I tire of games lacking any complexity such as Kingdom Hearts.

It would be cool, but the kiddies wouldn't understand not to mention you'll need to keep on configuring the command menu to beat a certain enemy in BBS already.
