Have any of you ever thought that the heartless might not have always been looked upon in the way they are now? What if, at one point, they were pitied?
I think the heartless became monsterized at someoint in their existence.
I had more to this idea... but It has slipedd my mind. maybe it was something about how Terras belt has a symbol on it similar to that of the heartless. Old news, I know... but there was more to the idea that I can't remember right now. oh well. the idea is out there- that's all that matters.

I can see how people would have pity of the creatures of Darkness, at first, anyway. Once they started devouring people's hearts, I think I'd start fearing/hating them, too.

Currently playing: with my balls | Re: A thought I can not stop thinking So... you're saying the Heartless were... good? And that something or someone made them bad?
Because I'm pretty sure that they are born from the darkness in peoples hearts. And last time I checked, things born from darkness aren't generally good. Plus I remember reading in one of the Ansem reports that the Heartless act on instinct. And if they're instinct is to "kill" people, then I don't think that's a good thing either.

And if they're instinct is to "kill" people, then I don't think that's a good thing either. | Exellent point, I must admit. Still, something tells me that they don't mean to hurt people, but rather, they are looking for their own hearts, perhaps. In looking for there own hearts, perhap they take those of others- or at least, at the beginning. remember, heartless can be controlled- and realistically, Sora is NOT going to vanquish every heartless. There is a source- a living source that sora must stop.
Was darkness in every heart BEFORE people developed a greed for light? Why would people have greed for light? Was it waning off? Were people trying to get what was left of it, only to find that the darkness they were trying to escaape existed in there own hearts?
I don't think the heartless were GOOD perse, but not evil either. Nobodies are no different.

Terra's belt symbol looks nothing like the heartless symbol other than the fact of the shape. If you look closely you'd see some diamond shapes (like the diamonds on playing cards) on the heart.

Creatures that seemed born of Darkness.
What are they? Are they truly sentient beings? Could they be the shadows of those who lost their hearts to my experiments? | Quote: |

Or something entirely beyond imagination?
All my knowledge has provided no answer.
One thing that I am sure of is that they are entirely devoid of emotion. Perhaps further study will unlock the mysteries of the heart.
Fortunately, there is no shortage of test samples. They are multiplying underground even as I write this report. They still need a name.
Those who lack hearts..
I will call them the Heartless. | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Quote: |

I believe the Heartless are taking hearts. They are born from those who've lost their hearts, and thrive on hearts seized from others. The hearts taken by the heartless become Heartless themselves.
Though I lack proof, I am confident in this hypothesis. I must also study their behavioral principles.
Though they lack emotions, they do seem to have some intelligence. How to communicate with them?
It's just occurred to me: Could they be the darkness in people's hearts? | Quote: |

Suddenly, a strange door appeared. I'd never known of its existence.
I had a large keyhole, but didn't seem to be locked. So, I opened the door.
What I saw on the other side mystified me.
What was that powerful mass of energy?
That night I observed a great meteor shower in the sky.
Could it be related to the door that I have opened? |

The Heartless feed on other's hearts, and they yearn for that energy core. That thing beyond the door must be a heart, too--the heart of this world. There is no proof, but, having felt that immense energy, I am certain. That was the heart of the world.
The Heartless are trying to take hearts not only from all living creatures, but from the planet itself. But what do they mean to do with the heart of the world? |

The game sorta states that when you lose your heart or if something is born in darkness then it has no humanity to it and does not show any intelligent thought just instincts. In this case those instincts are mindlessly collecting hearts. Think of them like zombies. Zombies don't think they just walk around looking for brains to munch on. Heartless just walk around looking for hearts to steal.

Anyway, intresting thought. But the thought of Heartless being nice just sounds off...
Riku- Um... Sora?
Sora- *sigh* No, I will not make out with you Riku...
Riku- **** you. Anyway, that Heartless has been following you for like an hour now.
*A Heartless is standing with a cupcake in it's claws with the words "I'm Sorry" on it.*
Sora- Awwww.... how nice *takes cupcake and stabs Heartless*
