Who do you think is VAT Master?

Who said he was training under Yen Sid to become a Master? The only thing we know about their relationship is that he was Mickey's teacher, and we can only surmise as to what he taught.

Actually we do know what he was teaching him. Magic. At least I vaguely recall Donald/Goofy saying something along those lines...

In any case, I think that the idea of Mickey being their master is a little iffy solely because of the idea that he is younger, more inexperienced, and such. Can't really see him teaching anything to anyone. However, I will admit that if I am correct and he was teaching him magic, there's nothing that really says he can't be it...

Yeah, I do recall that, but I'm not entirely sure where. I don't think it was at Yen Sid's tower, though I could be wrong.

Mickey is younger, obviously, but that does not make him lacking. For most of the Disney characters, age is irrelevant, as they do not mature over time since their iconic figure lasts (like, you won't see Donald getting wrinkles in KH3).

Here's the thing. We don't know how long he had the Star Seeker. It could have been years before BbS as far as we know. And, what's more, Nomura said that you shouldn't be so sure that Mickey is the king at this point in time. It would seem fitting that he was a Master.

You're discussing the physical aspects of the character...which obviously aren't going to change any time soon. That's not what I meant. I was reffering more to his mental/emotional state.

Do we know what Mickey is like 10 years into the past? As far as I know we've seen nothing of his personality. He could, potentially, be extremely similar to how he is now. However, he could also be a little more naive, more cocky, etc. I doubt Disney would allow SE to change him too much from what he is usually like (they're rather protective of all their properties), but you see what I mean, right?

Perhaps...but the fact that you receive the Star Seeker keychain along with Valor Form (if I am not mistaken, the fairies refer to the Star Seeker as a "gift from Master Yen Sid", though I could be wrong, as I haven't played the game in a while) hints to me that keyblade has its origins with Yen Sid.

Correct. As for who their master is...I'm guessing either Mickey or a new character.

I'm not saying Yen Sid is their master, but one possibility is that he trained VAT to chase MX, and later started to teach Mickey to aid them. I'm pretty sure it's not true, but it's one case in which Yen Sid could be VAT's master. Still, I think their master is a totally new character.

No, I was referring to the entirety of the character, physically and mentally, though I suppose I should have specified in a different example. They would never make Mickey cocky, he's remained an icon for decades in the Disney cartoons. There would be no greater role than for the very embodiment of the Disney franchise to act as a Master in a Disney game. We saw Mickey when he was talking to AtW with Xehanort, and he was no different. They definitely would not change him.

Rules that apply to actual people do not apply to Disney characters unless intentionally obvious, such as Hercules who undergoes character development. There's no use in saying "We don't know what he's like" as an excuse used against the idea.

No, the Gummi Ship was a gift from Yen Sid. Sora did not get the Star Seeker from him, or even the fairies. For one reason or another, it came to him like the Kingdom Key did.

Look at the way the question is worded. If it really was a new character, Nomura would easily have said no to the question, and yet he doesn't. The same Nomura that emphasizes on which characters are new.

Now I can bet most of you won't believe this simply because you don't like the idea of Mickey being TAV's master, as he isn't "cool" enough. I didn't really like it at first, but I can bet anything that he will be nonetheless.

It was just before you enter Yen Sid's Tower sometime aroudn when You are talking to Pete. WE do already know that is was magic. Also if you have seen Fantasia "The Magician's Apprentice" you actually see Yensid put down his hat, leave, have mickey put on the hat and perform magic.

He could still be in training for magic but be master over knights. he is just developing other skills
