Yep, a rule guide thingy.

Don't Spam

Spam is anything that is not relevant to the current topic, and in general any pointless or annoying messages. But it doesn't stop there, double posting (this one only most of the time) and making several posts pointlessly saying the same thing is also considered spam. Unfortunately, because there is some lag with our server, double posts will be made unintentionally. Instead of freaking out and immediately spamming your apology, PM a moderator with a link to the double post, and it will be taken care of as soon as possible.

If you spam constantly, you will first receive a negative rep as a warning, and then further discipline will commence if the problem continues. Forum Insanity is typically exempt from this rule.

Don't Flame Others

This is when you are making derogatory remarks toward other members, harassing them, or otherwise making their stay at KHI one that is abusive and unfun, instead of welcoming and enjoyable. Flaming will warrant negative rep, and then increasingly long bans.


Don't abuse the rep system

The rep system is used to recognize achievement, or to express distaste for or designate a bad post. Abuses such as 'lol want rep' or 'I hate you. Negative rep.' will not be tolerated, and your reputation level will be edited to reflect such abuse.

Double Accounts Are Bad

In most cases, there is no reason to make a double account. If you think you have a reason to do so, it's probably not acceptable. If you feel you need a second account PM or IM a member of the Staff. We'll be glad to help you out with your problem.

Creating multiple accounts without permission is a bannable offense.

Use proper English in here.

We understand that English isn't the standard language all over the world. But KHI is an English based forum. What does that mean? It means use all the things your English teacher taught you.

The odd grammatical error is perfectly fine, but constant illiterate posts make not only yourself looks stupid, but when guests are reading them- it degrades the overall quality of the forums.

Also. Proof Read before you submit that post. Make sure that it makes sense. Don't type as though you're talking. It doesn't translate well in text. Use full sentences, punctuation and spell check!

No Advertising

Advertising is not only frowned upon, it is not allowed period. That includes PM Advertisements, posting advertisements, and making a thread advertising anything. The only exception is advertising in sigs, which is permitted.

This is a bannable offense. Don't do it.

Mods

It's important to emphaize this: the mods ARE NOT evil tyrants who will ban you just because they hate you or because they disagree with your views. If it was like that, they probably wouldn't even be on staff in the first place.

But you have to remember that at the same time, they're humans, just like you. They like to have fun, joke around, get into discussions, and most importantly, they can make mistakes sometimes. We get a lot of complaints about the staff, and while not all of them are completely untrue, a lot of them definitely are. Remember: mods are not paid to do their jobs, they're taking time out of their schedules to do it. And while they're here to make the stay of you, the members, more pleasant, they don't work for you.

If you feel that a mod is acting out of line, it's best for you to PM an administrator about it, as they are the only people who can actually do anything about it. Adding onto to that, the staff has the following hierachy:

Site Staff (yellow username)
Section Mod (Red username)
Global Mod (teal username)
RPG Infero team (dark blue username)
Super Mod (sky/light blue username; RPG team also has super mod powers)
Administrator (purple username)

How does this help you? Well, it certainly helps you know who you can complain to about what. If you have been banned unfairly, and want to know who did it, you should look at the blue and purple usernames. The other mods cannot ban, and harassing them won't make them very inclined to help you with your problem.

KHI is becoming a more mature place, and that means that several rules have become a lot less strict. Swearing is now allowed, but only in moderation. If we see any swear words used more than a couple of times a day, or used in a way that is not meant to be light-hearted, appropriate action will be taken. Racial slurs are not to be used, unless you are PM'ing someone that you know, and you know they don't care if you use the slur. If we see you using a racist comment in a derogatory manner, you will be banned.
