Default The Commercialization of KHI

My friends and I were discussing this one day, so I thought I'd make a topic about it here. Do you guys think that KHI has become too commercialized, and that the true meaning of KHI has sort of been lost in the confusion?

I personally think that, even though I'm not religious, there should be a website like this, where we stop to think of others and to be with our families. But other people in different situations might not feel the same way. I think KHI may be a little too commercialized, but then again, maybe it's just me being selfish and not wanting to think of gifts to buy for other people.

Any thoughts?

Seriously though, no, KHI, I don't want to buy Cheap Eyeglasses from EyeBuyDirect.com

I, however, do feel compelled to watch No Reservations, featuring Anthony Bourdain.

And cheap eyeglasses really are a steal. You should look into them sometime, DJ.

Well,

KHI DOES NEED to have advertisements in order to make their money.
KHI is not free for those who own it.

They have to pay their bills. So that's why it needs to have many advertisement's around.

Uh...

Kingdom Hearts is a fusion of Final Fantasy and Disney.

Final Fantasy.

And DISNEY.

The "True Meaning" of Final Fantasy is "hey sad 13-year-old-boys, no one understands you and the jocks in school make fun of you, so buy this game and play as a scrawny prepackaged angst-machine like Cloud or Squall who saves the world and acts like a bigshot."

The "True Meaning" of Disney is "hey 1st-world kids, watch our fun cartoons about lions re-enacting Hamlet, don't think about the impoverished Korean youth who are forced to work for 15 cents an hour 17 hours a day animating cells of Goofy by hand under threat of caning."

The "True Meaning" of Kingdom Hearts, therefore, likely lies not too far from the median of these two.

It's a video game. It exists primarily to make money and secondarily to keep kids from getting exercise or sunlight. I wouldn't let myself lose too much sleep over whether it's purity has been degraded if I were you.

Unfortunately, you just made yourself look slightly stupid for taking him seriously.

Um... that didn't really make much sense, considering he was talking about ads on the site.

He was? He didn't specify that anywhere in his post. But in any case, the game exists to reproduce itself into shitty GBA ports and to hock action figures, and any website about the game will reflect that, so it can't be too commercialized no matter what he meant.

Ah yes. The evil demon that is Jack Thompson must've possessed you and burned your rational thinking in the fire and brimstone of Hell. It's possible to get sunlight and enjoy videogames at the same time.

Considering I got some stuff from the ads I'm just fine with them. Ads are everywhere 'cept dreams so no I don't think it’s become too commercialized. Adds in PMs by the staff is what I think is a bit much but I don't think that will happen. Scratch that For sure that won’t happen. Oh and PMF I got my contacts from Optics.XD

THEY DO ADVERTISING?! Just kidding

I was just kinda browsing google once...and I saw a link to this as a google answer...so I clicked it, and told my friend "Max/Souleater" about it

That is one way to advertise...The refferals. People telling people, and then they tell other people, and so the circle of life continues
