Okay, fine, so it's not today that I learned this but a month ago, but I'm sure few of you already know it and most of you will find it interesting.
You can control the acidity of your blood by breathing. How bonking awesome is that? Consciously breathe slower (or don't breathe at all) and your CO2 levels rise, which makes your blood pH drop (i.e. your blood becomes more acidic). Consciously breathe faster and your CO2 levels fall, raising your blood pH (i.e. your blood becomes more alkaline).
And these are totally serious conditions; they induce significant changes to your blood pH! Prolonged, you can get serious conditions called respiratory acidosis or alkalosis respectively.
A trick for all those breath-holding competitions kids like to have so often: hyperventilate before you hold your breath. This clears your arterial CO2 (which is the signal for your brain to decide how much you need to breathe) and lets you hold your breath longer.
^ I feel like they'll die or pass out easier. lol But interesting nonetheless.
Today I learned that sunflower seeds are diddlying addicting.
Today I learned that there is a time and place for high expectations and low expectations.
I also learned that being a geek isn't the reason why preppy kids never liked me. It's because I never gave them a chance to be more than a label. It's kind of funny, because the whole time I thought it was the other way around. Ever since I've started actually talking IRL, everyone's been nice to me, regardless of cliques or whatever. It's nice. :)
Not really facts; more like life lessons I guess.

Today I learned as much as Humanity struggles to fully understand the universe, it never will. The universe is infinite, ever-expanding. The more we know, the mor queestions there are.
Disgaea 4: A Promise Unforgotten
I learned that the gym in FFVII was a gay gym. The things you miss when you are a child!
Um, that XIII Heartless got banned because of the censor. ):
And how to use the chroma keyer in FCP. I knew senior year of HS...then I forgot but I just messed with it today and remembered. (I didn't really learn anything of importance today...)
You didn't know that? Oh! You should try looking at a banana's chromosomes. They are visible by the human eye and all you have to do is follow some online instructions.
Yeah, but it just showed that the censors are serious business and the mods aren't joking now.It was only a 3 day ban, I think he should be back tomorrow.

learned that there are more important things to life than money -- haha 100 dolla bills, holla!

I learned that nuclear power isn't so bad.
"With great power comes great responsibility"-Uncle Ben/Stan Lee( by King Sora X and Cudi )
"What mattered the most was remembered the least"
Definitely not.
Under a microscope, after staining with Giemsa, when they are in the M-phase of the cell cycle, and have already condensed into their signature X-shaped molecules, yes, but for ninety percent of the cells you come across that are in other stages of the cell cycle, you won't; and they most certainly are invisible to the naked eye.
Great. Now I have learned something. Even in college your biology teacher lies to you.
Guess I should explain why I said what I said. In human bio, we did a DNA spooling experiment and it is easy to use a B.A.N.A.N.A. because of how the chromosomes clump together and become visible by the naked eye. You can't see an individual chromosome, but you can "see" them. Or at least that was what my professor said.
Now I will promptly unlearn everything she taught last semester because I knew she was a load of BS.
