Currently playing: Final Fantasy XIII | You know what KHI, let's interview each other [03/05/09 - Silh] Shamdeo : sup brodude Silh : sup Shamdeo : What's your poison? Silh : I very much like root beer, especially when it comes in glass bottles. Those never fail me. Not Barq's though. I think Barq's tastes a little too different from the other brands. If not root beer, then fruit juice. Shamdeo : Keeping it light, I see. :3 I'll take a tip from your interview with Hokage and ask if you could describe yourself in ten words or less. Silh : Indifferent and vertically challenged. (giggle) Shamdeo : Ooh, how forthcoming. Would you be so brave as to tell us if you're a lady's man or a man's lady? Oh, and elaborate for us~ Silh : A bit forward there. I'm neither (especially not the latter, haha). Admittedly I haven't dated in a while. I sort of blame my sense of independence, and I blame the ladies for being fickle. Shamdeo : Speaking of the ladies, might I be privvied to know your early picks for Hottest of the Hot? Silh : I've got bets on Enchanted Rose and Livi. Pretty disappointing that the ladies' division this year is so small (especially since most of the people who wanted me to bring HotH back were female), but what can you do? Most girls don't exactly hang out on forums. Shamdeo : You've had many different persona throughout your tenure at KHI, enlighten us about the circumstances behind them. :3 Silh : This should be pretty interesting to answer. To those who don't know, I started off as "silh0uette" before I shortened it to Silh. As silh0uette, I've been banned a total of six times which is pretty unbelievable if you consider where I am now. All six times had something to do with this guy (more like faggot) Zackstorm. So I signed up under a name (which I forget), and believe it or not I left for a while. A few months before KH2 came out, I came back under the name "inhiding." It was very fitting at the time, really. Shamdeo : Given your tenure here, is there any era of this website and forum that you were particularly fond of and how would you compare it to where were at now? Silh : Oddly enough the years I spent banned and under a different name (05-06) were probably the ones I was most fond of. We still had the likes of Flare around, and overall the community was better back then. Really I echo Joe's sentiments (see: last interview). Shamdeo : Do think it's plausible we'll see an era alike the Summer of '05 with the new Kingdom Hearts titles coming out? Silh : It's possible. I don't think the KH fanbase is the best fanbase out there but it's certainly faithful, so they'll come running. A thing that worries me though is the recent site activity or lack thereof. For a while KHI got the latest news up first, but lately that's changed for reasons I probably shouldn't disclose. If this keeps up, will people still be coming to us first when the hype hits? Shamdeo : I guess time will tell. Another question, and this might be a toughie but do you have any regrets with any decision you've made as an administrator? Silh : I had to think about that one for a minute, yeah. I definitely regret letting people rep ten times a day at one point. If I left that limit alone, I probably wouldn't have called for a rep system reset, and some members probably wouldn't have left, though in all honesty if you left because of the reset, you make my choice feel a bit more justified. Other than that, I've no further regrets, though maybe I come off as too much of an ass sometimes. Maybe. Shamdeo : On to a lighter question involving the forums: if you could have a billion dollars to spend on KHI ( assuming you bought it ), what would you do with it? ( omg staff salary plzzz ) Silh : Better servers, most definitely. I'm hesitant to say staff salary. I'm pretty split on the issue. There are people that should be paid for their hard work (such as bittermeat), and then there are people who only moderate one section that's dead for the most part. Shamdeo : Nothing would please me more than to quit my job and work on the Inferno all day; alas, we need to come back to reality. So in real life, what's a day in the life of an average Silh? Got any plans for the future? Silh : Well currently I'm on probation for another month. The chat-goers know the whole story behind this one, but in summary you shouldn't run from the cops, even if you don't have a license. But other than that, all I'm allowed to do other than stay home is go to school. I've only got two periods a day this year so it's pretty easy. Naturally the routine is getting tiresome, but that'll soon be remedied. Also, I graduate in June and I'm pretty excited. I plan on taking a semester off before going to college to do whatever. Shamdeo : What would your dream job be? And conversely... a nightmare job. Silh : I'd like to try my hand at writing a screenplay. I think I can write something better than what's being dished out in movies these days, but unfortunately I'm just too lazy to expand my ideas. Honestly, I can't think of anything I'd hate to do. Shamdeo : Turd wrangler maybe? Dohoho~ Lemme put you in touch with Mike Rowe. Silh : On second thought… Shamdeo : What's going on in your vidya life? And why haven't you beat FFIV yet? Silh : I don't recall all the games I've played in the past year, but Mother 3 and Persona 4 are examples of titles that stick (hint hint, everyone). I got SFIV not too long ago which is pretty cool, even if I'm not that great at it. As for my FFIV progress? I picked it up again yesterday. Shamdeo : Do you have a console/handheld preference and why? Silh : I'm fairly neutral regarding the consoles. As for handhelds, I used to have a PSP and I traded it in for a DS, which I think I prefer more just because I've spent more time on it. I wouldn't mind getting my hands on another PSP though since it's got some upcoming games I'd like to try out. Shamdeo : On to music: who is your favorite artist/band, and provide us your favorite song, whether it be what's stuck in your head or your all-time favorite. Silh : I need a new favorite band to be honest, but overall I'd say Portugal. The Man because I'm having a hard time coming up with anything else. As bad as that sounds, the performances they put up are really good, such as: (See bottom of this post.) Shamdeo : Your favorite TV show, videogame, band/artist, movie, and your favorite food have all been thrown together into a single project. Tell us what this would look like? Silh : Anything I imagine comes out looking like the O.C., which is my favorite TV show. Embarrassing. Shamdeo : So with that said, let's wrap thing up with a message from you. What words of wisdom do you have for our members out there? Silh : Yeah, I've noticed that confronting me is becoming an issue. That's fine, but complaining in your silly fanclubs, visitor messages, and so forth about my policies won't get anything accomplished, except for me laughing at you. Everyone [can] criticize my methods, granted that it's a valid (read: not stupid) point. Scratch my back and I'll scratch yours. Let's at least try to make this cesspit bearable again. Shamdeo : And there you have it folks, our interview with Silh is completed~ Mission accomplished! Previous interview : Hokage (03/01/09)
