You are twisting my words. I said that if she doesn't convert and hates the life of a mormon.

Exactly. You feel as though they are the "best" way to live and don't really acknowledge other types of morality as something equally good.

What you consider a good morality might not be the case with someone else. For example, I don't know what mormons in general think of homosexuality, black people or such, but if they find them to be a bad thing, it's kinda wrong to say how your morals are only good. In meny cases the acts of violence have been justified by morality.

Forcing someone to join a religion is stupid because in that case the forced person will never buy in to all that stuff, and they need for her to believe so that she can be a good mormon.

They might be pressuring her though.

That's the thing though............. Mormons don't pressure. Well not really, not in any way that would make you feel forced. No respectful Christian ever would.

Either you are being ironic or you've been eating shrooms.

Of course they pressure. That is the whole point religions is spreading all around the world. Every time they scare you with hell or how living a bad life screws up your afterlife they are pressuring you to take on their way of living.

and if you would feel forced after you've converted, their propaganda would suck.

That's why I said they pressure. Of course they pressure, they want your soul. That's what all we Christians want is your soul up there with us. We're obligated to do so. But there's no Mormon that'll make you think "aw shit, I better do what he/she says" You don't feel any authority, that's just evagelism works.

Been off the shrooms for 8 months now BTW.

If she wants to hit that now, she'll want to hit that when she's forced to be Mormon. Converting won't stop her, especially if she hates Mormons. XP Duh. People need to quit blaming the Church for Toasty's lack of tail.

And it's one parent forcing her, right? That ONE member is NOT the whole Church. The Church isn't forcing itself on her, her parent is forcing his/her beliefs on her. There's a big difference. She COULD go, "I don't WANT to convert," and then I bet the Mormons wouldn't convert her. They're not gonna baptize someone against their will... XP

And I also think it's funny that people believe that if you're born in a church, you must AUTOMATICALLY think it's true. Deeman had to figure out for himself whether he believed his church is true, just like every member or convert has to.

By following the rules set out to you by god, you think of him as your authority.

It's quite easy. Follow -> heaven, don't follow -> hell. I'd call that a pretty big authority.

My mom used to tell me that stealing is wrong, thus I didn't steal. If my mom would have told me praying would allow me to talk to god, I would have believed also. In the end parents have a major affect on the way you see the world around you.

So you've never questioned anything you've been told by a parent ever? Maybe you should look around. I doubt you agree with everything they've told you. I doubt you've never questioned them on SOMETHING. Yeah, when you're a little kid, maybe it sticks, but then you grow up a bit more and you wonder, "Do I really believe that stealing is wrong?" Or "Do I really believe that my church is true?"

Aren't you like, having sex with your boyfriend 24/7 Ecstasy?

Anyways, That Follow > Heaven, Not Follow > Hell thing is what I started to like a few days ago. That is my conclusion. I wasn't happy with being a Christian, so I asked myself, talked to people, etc. And here I am, happier than I have been the past month.

[strike]Also, I do so have a tail.[/strike] (Dammit, I should read things for a longer time.) She's the one who wanted to sex me first. Now it's like, "lol mormonism so like yeah, no."
