Default Medical Issues #1: Genetic Engineering/Cloning

(WHY DIDN'T I THINK OF THIS SOONER?! >.< For my Medical Issues Class in my school, Midwood, I have debates about medical issues and well, I'm not exactly always on the side that wins because I'm always the one to speak. So I will post this as a debate so I can view both sides of the arguement)

This time, we're discussing genetic engineering. I am on the judicial group but the case is a large ethical problem. I am against genetic engineering and cloning because of various ethical issues and it's just not right. People who say that it will enhance human nature are just toying with what nature has given us.

I kinda go with you I mean it sounds nice but a clone it's kinda cruel almost it's just a shell without a soul ,if you belive you have a soul or feelings. anyway it would be a shell without feelings or emotions.

^ Wrong.

First off, Akuma, what are your core values? In a defined sense, what is "Wrong" and what is "right" in this debate?

It's Akura. And if you truly believe that tampering with nature's gifts and creating artificial life is wrong, then you are like me. If you find no moral objection to it, then you are for genetic engineering.

If nature gave us the ability to enhance ourselves and create clones and such then I believe we should, after all if nature intended us to be this smart we should use the intelligence we were given to make things better

We have the gift of intelligence that gives us the actions to control majority of life but as humans, we are obligated to keep preserve life, not evolve it. We even have the capability to destroy countries with a single press of a button but we shouldn't. As humans (with intellect) we are given that ability. But does that mean we must abuse it?

an exact clone of a person, is still a persin, just created nin a different way, therefore using that clone to serve you or any purpose you give it falls under slavery.
