I smiled and pet the squirrel lightly. "Thank you. I won't let your forgiveness go to waste, then... I guess we'll both follow DMrayZ from now on." I looked around, wondering if I had permission to leave this place. I wouldn't be going against him, so there should be no problems with it. "Why don't we go to a park, then? That's much for fun than this empty place." I opened a dark corridor and ran through, happy to feel the warm of the sunshine again. "...Do you have a name?" I suddenly asked the squirrel. "I have to call you something."

*The squirrel looked into her eyes. A name? He'd never had a name before, or at least, not a proper one, becoming aware was a very strange experience indeed. He supposed he would leave it to her to name him, as he knew of no proper names for ones such as he...*

"Why don't I call you... Ami? Short for amigo, since you're my only friend out here... Is it stupid for a name? Or...?" I looked to the squirrel for approval or disapproval.

*The squirrel shook his head firmly, he didn't know much about names, but he knew that that one sounded foreign, and not fit for a squirrel like him*

"No? Okay then... How about... Nutalie?" I laughed. "Just kidding. I'm thinking... Chase?"

*The squirrel cocked his head to the side, pondering the name, Chase, a word of pursuit, and of seeking, somehow he liked the sound of it, and deemed that it suit him well. He nodded happily, and gently scurried to the top of the girls head, nuzzling himself in her hair and basking in the warm rays of the sun, as they descended upon her.*

"Then it's decided! Chase and Mega! Partners for life!" I smiled and walked around, meandering in the warmth of the sun. I just felt so free now... At least for now, there was nothing to worry about. We were both safe and sound.

The squirrel chittered happily at this exclamation. It was a pact, between the two of them, unspoken yet true, together they would take on whatever challenges presented themselves, no matter how grim or powerful it may be. He looked up, watching the sky with a wonder he had never felt, for the first time he truly appreciated it's vastness, it's enormity, and if such an infinite space could exist, them perhaps anything could be possible.

I smiled and started to hum and gentle melody. He wasn't around, so I was just going to pretend I was my own person, free of pacts and free of binds, with my new friend. I could at least have this, right?

But I couldn't help but wonder...Why this deal would be beneficial to DMrayZ. I was weaker than him, and we weren't close... yet he spared me. For a laugh?

"Chase, did you just appear there suddenly, or... do you know something? About him?"

*The squirrel thought, it was hard to remember much about his life before death, and even what he did remember, was hard to make sense of, but it seemed, Chase though, that the death-waker, had not always been so demented, however, of this he could not be sure. The squirrel sighed wearily, which indeed was a weird sight to behold, before resting his head on Mega's hair, and shaking his head with resignation*

"It's okay, this is a new start for us. I guess... I'll find out his use for me soon." I shivered involuntarily. Just the thought scared me... "Are you hungry? I'm hungry. Let's eat. What are you hungry for?"
