you fantasize about them
you know every known fact about the game
you know every person who made the game
you want an anime/movie etc.. to be made
you go on a site like this for your nerdiness lol

when you don't feel like associating with people who don't play the same games as you
when you have a rivalry with someone because your favorite character is the enemy of their favorite character
when you insult people by using terms from the game that they don't understand (ie - calling someone a dusk nobody)
