I'd rather not with the PSP dying and everything. Surely they'll put it on the PSN so you can download it to the PSP.

the Psp hanst died yet, It proably fair best with a dual release for each. As of yet the saLes for vita hasnt reached there expectation. I think there still a good chance for the UMD.

That's the thing, we don't know. Square's probably localizing it right now, so it's their decision if they want to release it as a Vita game near launch in the US or if they'll just release it on PSP.

But shouldn't the PSP get one last hurrah before the Vita takes over. Don't get me wrong, I can get a Vita (school refund money and all) but like Seta said, it's Square's Decison

Haven't checked this thread in a while, but have been looking for localization news. Seems no announcement has been made. It could have been a last minute decision to localize it requiring Square to find voice actors to make English changes in the game before any announcement. I'm thinking we wont hear about it until February or March.

They probably will, unless there's some kind of outside factor intervening. The major cost is localization, which won't increase if they make it multi-platform, and I don't think they'd lose any potential Vita buyers by releasing on PSP if they were quiet about it.

If I were Sony and thought I could pull off a worthwhile marketing campaign, I might offer marketing money to have an exclusive Final Fantasy game within the first year... but it's hard to figure out what Type-0's sales potential would be, so it'd be a pretty big risk. There's definitely a lot there that they could use to market to the west, but I'm not sure if it'd be possible to turn it into a system seller, and Sony probably wouldn't be interested in it otherwise.

Other than that kind of setup, though, I can't see what they would lose by offering Type-0 on PSN.

I have no idea what you said. The Vita is only out in Japan and it is going to take awhile to localize Type-0. The game has an entire book of text and just as much voice acting so nobody expects this game to come out anytime soon. It is easy enough to make it multiplatform since the Vita will be out around the world by then.
