Okay folks this is an idea I've had in mind for like 0.5 hours now. Since these here Final Fantasy boards could use some livening up, and due to our FF.net podcast's booming success, I think I'm gonna bust out a weekly/biweekly/monthly discussion thread on very popular Final Fantasy topics. From the "Squall is dead" theory to "How Beoulve is Ramza?", I'm hoping we can get some intelligent convos out of this instead of just "Tidus is whiny", "Cloud is emo", or some jizz like that. Let's see how smart KHI's FF fanbase really is!

For our first topic, I have decided to go with a very popular and hated character -- Tidus (would have gone with Cloud, but after seeing that Zack v. Cloud thread, I'm not sure if I want to discuss FFVII ever with this forum). To some, Tidus is one of the best, most realistic protagonists in the entire series. To others, he is an annoying snot-nosed blitzball faggot ass who whines all the time and deserves nothing short of the death penalty. But what about you? What do you think about your favorite athlete?

Some possible starting points:

1.) Tidus: Good protagonist, or bitchy little frick?
2.) Opinions on Tidus/Yuna relationship?
3.) Comparisons to other lead roles in the series?

They're relationship was so deep....That she even waited to see him again.

I like him he's cool. He had a very realistic reaction to Spira. I don't know why people say he's whiny tho.

Realistic reason. And yet people bash him for it. Nevermind he actually grows a pair later on though, oh no they never mention that.

Well Tidus relationship with Yuna was kinda obvious from the start. But it was still nice to see. The ending when she couldn't even touch when he was fading away was heart wrenching.

I don't really mind Tidus, but he does get whiny at times. At least he's still bearable enough for me to like the Tidus/Yuna relationship. Because he wasn't, then I wouldn't have bawled my eyes out in the middle and ending of the story whenever those bittersweet Tidus/Yuna moments would pop-up. As comparison to other lead roles...hahaha, I'm lame so I immediately though of comparing him to Vaan from Final Fantasy XII. But unlike Vaan, who is nearly two-dimensional, Tidus has more spark to his personality, as much as I hate his type of personality.
