Then again, if you played through them like I did (extensively), there'd be no real reason aside from aesthetics xP

Just got myself a copy of the piano collections for ffXIII and they are absolutely stunning =/ in fact only after listening to them did I realise how genius the music was for this game (if anything about this game was to be considered genius). Masashi Hamuazu is the one genuinely brilliant thing about this game for sure ^^.

I bought FF XIII about a week ago, and only have around 24 hours logged in for game time. I just got to Pulse....I've read that there are supposed to be side quests you can partake in, like in every other FF game, does that finally happen soon? Like around what chapter....? Ch. 11?

Cause like Lancelot said, it has felt pretty restricted.

How many hours would be an average finishing time story-wise?

I've also been wondering....just how many chapters are there exactly? Are there 13?

Just started replaying this after logging 75 hrs into 13-2. Man, the design aesthetic is just SO dramatic compared to the sequel! And I think the graphics are better! Only thing are small graphics, fonts, etc, in which the sequel looks better. But so far am loving this game all over again! FFXIII forever!

I still have Treasure Hunter to do. And I really want this game on Vita... or at least a XIII game, I don't care if it's XIII-3 or whatever. Just a game containing hints of XIII like even something like Theatrythm on Vita. <_>

I've had this question burning in the back of my head for 2 years now and idk if it's been discussed here. I've searched and searched and can't get a clear picture in my head. How does the Hanging Edge/Bresha Lake areas of the game work? I'm so confused on how it is layer out in relation to cocoon(and yes I've seen the map). Let's see, the datalog says the Hanging Edge is on the outer layer of the shell right? Then Bresha lake is under it? So does that mean there's another outer layer of water? and then Bresha Ruins is under the Hanging Edge as well. So this is so confusing. This is how I have it pictured in my head from the core/center to outer shell: Eden/Phoenix/sky/land and water/shell/Hanging Edge/Lake Bresha and Bresha Ruins. Is that correct or do I have it all mixed up? Wish there was a diagram or illustration explaining it because I can't find anything!

Oh and I've seen these drawings that looks like there are two layers of land. Is that thin strip of land(that looks like it's deeper in the shell) the Hanging edge?

Wouldn't the Hanging Edge be near the bottom of Cocoon? In 13-2 at Bresha Ruins, Serah says "You can see the ground above us"

    Cocoon doesn't rotate....right?

As for the layer of water...uh, what body of water are you referring to? Lake Bresha or just in general? *Slightly confused*

And thanks, by the way, now this is bugging me. -_-

^Haha exactly why I'm confused! And it doesn't matter where you are on Cocoon, you will always see the ground above you. Gravity is reversed, pointing away from the core not towards it like earth. And by the body of water I meant lake Bresha. I was asking if Lake Bresha was another layer around the outer shell of Cocoon thats just water(and could that be whats "falling" from Cocoon?)? So then there are also bodies of water on the inner layers of the shell also, right?

Yea, thinking about it gets me real confused. But I guess I'm just over thinking it. But I really wanna know if it's been discussed or if the developers have talked about it or have diagrams or whatever.

Has anyone beaten Barthnaduls (1) without using hope. All the guides say that it is the best way to beat him is using light, fang, and hope. Even though i got close lsot off times it hasnt worked out. Now i've tried using sazh to replace him, i can destroy the paladron faster but Barthandulus keeps up with me using the barrage of spells and Lightning cannot heal as fast or as well on her own with out hope. What should i be doing?

Is this the one just after Barthandelus kills Jihl? It's been a while since I played.

I'd recommend sticking with Hope. I'm pretty certain at this point in the game I was still using Lightning, Hope & Sazh as my main team because of the skills they got early on in their primary roles.

Use Lightning (as leader) almost exclusively as a Commando here and utilise her Blitz ability. You'll need to input this manually and use 'Repeat' to prevent auto-battle from telling her to use single attacks. By the time you get one of the segments staggered you'll have taken a healthy amount of HP away from the adjacent. Have a paradigm set-up with Lightning as a Commando backed up by Hope & Sazh buffing as Synergists. At this point you'll be wanting Sazh as a Synergist because of his early access to Haste. Try and always keep your party buffed with Haste at the very least.

Have your bread and butter paradigms in there as well (Relentless Assault lead by Commando Lightning, Diversity with Sazh offensive casting and Hope healing), switching to them when you see fit/require. If at any time you need extreme healing switch to Med/Med/Rav and have Lightning aid Hope in doing so whilst Sazh keeps filling the stagger gauge.

If Hope and/or Sazh get KO'd and you feel a Phoenix Down won't be enough don't hesitate in summoning Odin. When he leaves battle your KO'd party members will be back to full strength.

Those 4 paradigms should get you through the battle without much effort (unless I'm thinking of a completely different fight!)

    Oh, and Libra! Libra! Libra!

Stand fast, stand strong, stand together.

Thanks its the haste, i could destroy the paladron fast enough before he cast death on us. I think i beat him in 10 mins to. Sazh is very useful but i hope that hope learns haste soon too.
