I wanted to, but sadly, I can't. Fall quarter just started up (textbooks and supplies D:), and I can only get so many games a year.
Not sure how I feel about this game really.

I've heard some major flaws about this game but I've also heard it is fun so I have no clue whether to get this or not.
I'm Me Nobody Else!-Roxas

I'm playing this at the moment (got my ff13 plat woo!) and it's VERY difficult to get into.
At the beginning there's very little you can do, and it's very difficult. Given that the monsters level up with you, it's like there's no skill, just luck and patience. It's a very stop start experience.
I have to say, once things open up a little more the game gets much easier (at least till where I am now) which seems strange.
It is gorgeous though; not just the art style, but the multi-levelled layout of the towns make coming to a new town a joy.
It's not that difficult. Sure you can get lost easily but that's only if you aren't talking to the NPCs, a rule of thumb for old school RPGs. You know, what 4HoL was marketed as.
FFVIII did the same thing with the enemies by the way.

and FFVIII was criticised for it.
The problem isn't that it's too hard; i'm about 10 hours in and at this point it's too easy! The problem is that the beginning few hours are incredibly hard, and with limited options there's no skill. You basically have to luck your way through until the game hits its stride.
I must say I am enjoying this game though, it has its faults, but it is equally charming.
Yeah I didn't think the first few hours were particularly hard if you (like Silh said) talk to NPCs and just generally not make boneheaded decisions in battle.
I don't quite understand why the enemies matching your level would be a problem. If anything it would encourage you to revise your strategies, especially on the tougher bosses. Though some strategies would make winning easier, it doesn't necessarily ensure victory.

I've never really been into Final Fantasy, but I thought this one looked cute. Would this be a decent title to play as a way of introducing myself to FF?
STARTING JANUARY 1ST 2011, I WILL NO LONGER BE VISITING KHI UNTIL KH3D RELEASES IN NORTH AMERICA.

GOODBYE POST
if you don't mind playing an intentionally old-school rpg, you should be fine

I did manage to 100% this in the end. Really was very easy once I'd got passed the first few hours.
I wouldn't recommend it. It's not a bad game, and it is very pretty, but there are so many better Final Fantasies.

I have been lightly playing this game over the past few weeks and I quite enjoy it. I like the battle system a lot and I think the design is completely adorable. The crown system is quite fun and I am constantly left questioning what is going to happen next. Everything seems lovely and structured as well.
Spoiler: Spoiler discussion

It's nice because it's like playing a NES game but with characters more like FFIXs (though nowhere near as fleshed out).
Overall I wouldn't rate it, but it is pretty unique so that's good. Although, I believe DQIX does the same kind of thing.
Ok. So I am at the part where Yunita is alone in Urbeth and I need mithril. My guide book says I can only get Mithril around Guera, but I cant get to Guera. Is there a way there or do I go somewhere else?

Techincally this should be merged with the main thread, seen here: http://forums.khinsider.com/final-fa...-shopping.html
As an actual response, you randomly find Mythritoises pretty much anywhere in the map. They're difficult to come by, but if you make Yunita a Bandit (if the Crown is available for you) it makes it easier to just Steal Mythril from them as opposed to the lesser chance of them dropping one upon defeat.
