So I searched the forum and found no thread for this yet. Weird.

Anyway, for those who have no idea what this is:

Anyway, it's one of my favorite musicals (and movies) ever. It has Susan Sarandon and Tim Curry (along with many others). I just need to go buy it sometime now that my sister moved out and took the only copy there was of it in the house (but to be fair, it was her's so... >.> ). But yeah, anyone else seen this ridiculously good movie?

Also, apparently MTV is remaking this as you read. Not sure whether it'll be good or not, but you can never be sure with MTV anymore.

MTV is remaking it?

Shit... society's coming to an end. MTV's really gotten pretty bad nowadays, and I have no doubts this will not prove any different from the rest of their recent things.

But why bother to remake it at all?

Money. Richard O'Brien (the creator of the original and the play and what-not) said he would have no part in it and sees no point in remaking it.

Plus, there's a rumor going around Marilyn Manson is gonna be Dr. Frank N. Furter for it, as well >.>

Marilyn Manson + Rocky Horror Picture Show = Kill me.

Guy's not that bad a musician, but I really don't have high hopes for this film if he's going to be in it.

Well, at least we can get a Metal version of the Time Warp, and hear him scream about how he's a sweet transvestite... actually, that doesn't sound very good either.

Oh, and I was checking around again, but apparently the remake got canceled as of September 15 of last this year. That was probably for the best.

They can't remake a classic, that's sucks :(

Rocky Horror's a well good film too, 'Janet! Dr.Scott! Janet! Brad! Rocky!' Hahaha, does anyone know if Shrek copied that, in the second one where they're all saying eachothers name then Donkey goes 'Donkey!'

the movie itself isn't all that great

what makes it good is that it has become a sort vehicle for vaudevillian participation for its audience

not sure how often you'll see showings like the ones in the old days these days

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, don't remake RHPS, its hillarious as it is. It has that cheesey old movie feel to it.

i saw the live stage show last year

the only thing that made it fun was that it was the last night

people fucked with the actors by saying something everytime they said a certain line

on "janet" people would yell "dammit"

on other lines saying character names people would say "douche bag" or "fag"

some that were rather ad hominum to the individual actors

others i dont remember but it was awesome

Well I've personally never seen the show, unfortunately, but only the movie. Although I do hope to see the show at least at some point in my life.

And yeah, it's not the best movie ever, but I do certainly like it, especially the cheesy graphics from the 70's and low-budget films.

I saw a very poorly done uh...hmm...I don't even know if I can call it a live stage show honestly. Well to get to the point, they gave the audience scripts that seemed to have collected popular lines for the crowd to say during the show. For example, whenever "Brad" was said they would say "Asshole" or when "Janet" was said the crowd yells "Slut"

Other than the show itself being very badly done, I felt like having a "script" for what the audience is supposed to say completely goes against what should be going on. Lame lame lame.

Side note: I almost hate this movie for the sole fact that I've seen it waaaaay too many times. My third girlfriend's father was gay so this was pretty much her favorite movie growing up which meant we watched it constantly while dating. :tongue:
