Story One

((Chapter One: It began at School.))

When most people go see a zombie movie, they will often leave that movie feeling like they've seen the same thing about a thousand times before. They call the deaths of those actors on the screen cliché and everyone leaves having a good laugh. You don't leave wandering if it could actually happen. You might say something like, ' that would be cool.'

Well, it's not...not one....little...bit.

It's not funny when you see your mother eat your father alive. It's not funny when your girlfriend tries to kill you. When it finally does happen, you don't say it's cliché. I didn't suspect a thing when the first wave hit. I woke up from my bed at 7:00 that day without a care in the world. The first semester of school had just ended and no large assignments were in sight. I got ready for school, putting on my black jeans over my boxers and changing into a long sleeve shirt. I never comb my hair since it naturally say that same no matter what you did to it.

I walked out into the living room, and no one was there. I didn't think anything of it, I just went up to my parents' bedroom. I knocked, and there was no answer. I turned the door knob slowly, and then pushed to the door open. I was able to heard a squelching chewing from the other side of the room. A lot like someone chewing bubblegum. The reality of it, is much more disturbing. How would you feel, if you walked into your parent's room and you saw your mother chewing on you're father's brain. Every time I look back on it, it seems too comical to be true. My mother didn't notice me there, until i called her name. I still find my self stupid for doing so.

My mother jumped at me and grabbed my neck with both arms. All the blood vessels in her eyes seemed to have popped. The blood on her mouth and the stick of her breath made me gag...along with the lack of air.

The saliva and blood from her mouth dripped onto her nightdress. I got a hold of my self and looked around, knowing my breath would be running out soon. i grabbed a pair of scissors from the top of my mom's dresser and drove it right into her left eye. It pained my greatly to do so, though I knew that this was no longer my mother. She let go and let out a growling scream. I ran out of the room and shut the door. I ran down the house and to the front door feeling dazed and out of myself. I could hear my mother breaking through the wood of her door. I went out the door and locked it. I sighed and looked around.

I'd seen zombie movies before, and I'd wondered what i would see. I expected to see mass chaos, but all there was, is silence. No cars, no people, no nothing.
Two things occurred to me. Either the people in the other houses had not met a problem yet, or, the creatures were inside the houses waiting. I ran along the street, listening to my footsteps echo. I was running even after my breath was lost. After running for a few straight miles I finally came up to my school. What i saw in the front of the school was more of a normal sight for me. A crowd of about two hundred zombies seemed to be trying to break down the front door. I was sure that I'd be able to get into the school. There were sufficient piping and other climbable things on the side, where the zombies were scattered thinly. I took a deep breath and then found myself unable to move. Fear was holding my back. I needed to get over it, or I was doomed. I closed my eyes, let out a large sigh and then began to run toward the building. I gave a great leap when I got close and got high enough to grab onto a pipe. I began to make my way up and hen began to laugh. I saw an open window and then hopped in.

I was on the third floor of the building, and there seemed to be normal, but frantic voices coming from below him. I walked out of the door and down the stairs of the third floor down to the second. The larger windows were boarded up and all entrances to the first floor were blocked my benches and other heavy rubbish. I walked into the hallways of the second floor and then heard the voices coming from the auditorium. I ran down to the auditorium and then was stopped when i felt a very sharp object being pressed threateningly against my head.

"Say something, or I drop you!" Someone behind me said. I didn't hesitate.

"I'm Tom Gamm, I go here!" I said.

The man put away his knife and then walked off. He headed towards the auditorium, and then went into it. I looked around and then after a moment of waiting, followed.

((Chapter Two: The Madness of Teens))

I'm not one to brag. In fact, I rather hate bragging, however, there are some situations that merit it, and this is definitely one of them. Ever since this whole "zombie"crisis began, some of the most noble and heartfelt kids at my school had either shriveled up with fear, or become irrationally angry and egotistical. Oddly enough, kids like me, and some others with lives that aren't that great, are used to the same feeling day by day and so, I and some other are unchanged. Most, of you are probably wondering why i'm not traumatized by seeing my mom eat my dad. The simple answer is, that I am. Very much so. The shock of it all takes a long time to sink in. Large amounts of trauma seem to wear you out slowly until you finally collapse.

Any who, I left off telling you about how I'd snuck into school and then been caught. Well, soon after I walked to the auditorium, which is a large and old structure made up of old wooden chairs and other beautiful antique decorations. Some of the chairs had apparently been unscrewed and used for barricades and door blocks. I just walked along the place looking at the kids. None of my friends were there, but I could tell they were there. I could hear their voices. I didn't bother to look for them, since they were probably talking with others about the situation. Just a few second later I was tackled and them kissed on the lips by my girlfriend, Olivia. We remained like that for a while, but I could tell she was scared. She was shivering and she had tears falling from her eyes. I held her close for a moment when she broke away from me and looked at me.

"I thought you were still out there!" She said

I just nodded and looked away.

"What's wrong?" She asked with the tears still running down her face.

"My parents....their gone." I said, trying to sound calm. I wasn't sure whether I was succeeding. Olivia covered her mouth and she gasped. She shook her head.

"My mom's gone, and my dad's here across the room. " She sighed wiping the tears from her eyes. " One of those things broke through my house door. They seem to have super-human strength...well...some of them. they couldn't break through the barricades." I really hoped she was right. Something in my gut told me that she wasn't. Then again, that would just have been my luck. I gave her another kiss and walked away, out off the auditorium. I walked around up to the third floor where there was a group of people. Two teachers, an old man, three kids i didn't know and then...

"Tommy!"

I found one of my friends. Her name was Maria. she was an A+ student and a wonderful actress. I used to go to her performances and enjoy them greatly. She really was pretty, though that was now toned down in her. She looked angry, and relieved and also, a bit desperate. She had scars on her face and her arm, though none of them seemed caused my those "zombies". They looked more....self-inflicted. I shook my head and walked up to her. I gave her a hug and then looked at the other people around them.

"Well, why are you up here, away from everyone else?"

"We're planning some routes to travel when food gets scarce, which won't be long. The truck that delivers the food never came." Said the old man.

"There's a Seven Eleven not to far from here, and just a mild down the road, There's few fast food joints."
Said one of the adults.

"We'll have enough healthy food for a about a week. Then after that, we have to get out of here. Whether we walk or we drive, I don't know, and not all of us will make it....It's definite." Said one of the other adult, who I now realized was a former cop. The group remained silent for a moment.

"Five days it is then..." I say. I just hope we hold out that long....
