| Disney Soldier | This is my first time posting a FanFic on this theard so I'm not sure exactly how it works. I've posted this same one on FanFiction.net but i made some minor adjustments to chapter 1. p.s The main charater isn't Sora, but he's a big part of the story, and if people like this one he'll be the protagonist in the sequeal =) contains mild violence ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Chapter 1. Awakening Pyre was falling into the blackness. She didn’t know how long she had been falling, or even where she fell from, the only thing that kept her conscious was the sound of wind rushing past her. Was she going to die? Where was she? Hundreds of questions were rushing though her mind so quickly she didn’t have anytime to be afraid, but then, the falling slowed the wind rushing past was now a just a whistle as the air past threw the hole in the heart-shaped necklace. She straightened to a standing position and landed on a black surface. She looked around frantically. What’s going to happen now? Is she stuck here? Where is “here”? She took a step forward and white doves flew all around her, reveling a stain glass picture of two rather odd swords crisscrossing each other. She studied this new development with more curiosity then fear, at ten Pyre was more fearless then the other girls she knew, she was determine, smart, curious, and strong, so naturally the other girls who preferred to giggle and gossip about each other and the boys shunned her, But she was fine, the boys were defiantly more rambunctious then the girls but Pyre got used to it, and she didn’t really enjoy all of bruises she got from the boys but it was a small price to pay for there company. She was definitely a tomboy. Words started to come to her; they weren’t her words though. It was almost like someone was inside her head. “The sky is still in danger. We do not have much time. Step forward, and choose your weapon.” Three sliver pedestals appeared before her, the one in front of her held a sword, the one to the left of her held a staff, and the one to her right held a shield. Somehow Pyre knew she would have to fight, and soon. She ran straightforward and grabbed the sword. “So you have chosen the power to fight, there will be times in your journey where you have to fight, but don’t be afraid.” The voice said. Stairs appeared before her; she looked around again. No matter what the voice said she couldn’t help but be afraid, but she would rather face what was coming then stay stuck where she was. She ran up the stairs and noticed that the closer she came to the next pedestal the closer she came to a light. A window perhaps? Or maybe a door. She reached the next pedestal, which again was stain glass, but this time the picture was of the sun and the moon. She looked around and saw the light; she began to run toward it. “Be careful,” said the voice. “Don’t let your curiosity get the best of you. Remember the Closer you get to the light, the greater your shadow becomes.” Pyre was puzzled by this statement and stop in her tracks. She felt like something bad was about to happen. She turned around and saw that her shadow had become it’s own person in a way. It was completely black she only knew it was her shadow because it bore her body type and faintest resemblance of her; it was staring at her with glowing yellow eyes. Pyre stared back with extreme curiosity. Pyre drew her sword, which somehow appeared in her hand when she thought she needed it. The shadow didn’t attack, instead it embraced her, her sword disappeared, it then began to engulf her, choking her. “Get-off!!” Pyre screamed She drew her sword again and it went right threw the shadow. It drew back, now it was staring at her almost like it was hurt. Pyre sat there catching her breath, she was no longer curious, she was angry. She raised her sword and rushed towards the shadow. She slashed it again, and again, and again, until it disappeared. “Watch your heart closely, you might just lose it to darkness. But don’t be afraid, fore you will be the one to save the sky.” Pyre was falling again, but this time she fell back into reality. She woke up with a start, Peter was standing over her. Peter was her age, he had messy curly hair and droopy eyes, and he was also her best friend. “Your tired already? We haven’t even started yet!” Pyre lived in a world of snow, it always snowed, all the time and she loved it there, the people were nice, the town was isolated by mountains and it was so quiet. A little while ago some of the young people there decided to explore the worlds, see what else is out there, so they started building a laboratory, one in which they could study the earth and what it was made of. Pyre wanted desperately to help since most of her friends were part of the construction crew, but being a girl Neon, the crew leader gave her the role of peacekeeper. She was suppose to run around the site making sure no one was fighting or getting into trouble. Talk about boring! “I’m not tired! I was just, resting my eyes!” Pyre exclaimed, She knew if she admitted to sleeping Peter would want to talk about her dream, and she didn’t want to talk about it. She didn’t know why but it still scared her a little. “Then move it lazy!” Peter pulled her up roughly. Pyre set to work she wandered the site saying hello to her friends, and frowning whenever she saw Neon, eventually he confronted her, “Why are you being such a brat? Peacekeeper is an important job! If you weren’t here I would have to do it!” Neon was obviously a little guilty, but she didn’t really blame him, not really. Most men here thought women were better off in the kitchen bare foot and pregnant, certainly not working on the construction of a laboratory. Pyre was too stubborn to back down though. “Important job? There hasn’t been one fight since I started wandering around this place!” “Then that must mean your doing a good job.” Neon simile and patted her on the head, he walked away yelling at someone to be careful with the test tubes. Over the next two days Pyre was too busy to dwell on her dream, keeping things peaceful on the construction was more difficult then she thought. Men would drop things and blame it on other people and fights would brake out all the time. Pyre didn’t really understand why they wanted to know about other worlds, especially when they a perfectly good one right here! Sure it snowed all the time and was cold, but it was beautiful, peaceful, and isolated from whatever was out there, but a small part of her wanted to see what was out there, she wanted to know about other worlds. While trudging home from work that night she saw a storm coming, it was bigger then any storm she had ever seen, her curiosity got the better of her and as she walked closer to it, it was on her way home anyway. The snow turned from flurries to heavy fast moving snow, as she got closer. She Stopped when the two strange swords she saw in her dream appeared in her hands, she studied them more closely. They resembled keys more then they did swords. The one in her left hand was black the one in her right was ivory. She didn’t have time to examine them any closer because almost as soon as they showed up in her hands she was under attack. She could barely see because of the storm, but she could tell her attacker was armored and held the same “keysword” in his hand. Pyre held the swords criss-crossed over her face to avoid being hit. He kept attacking and attacking and attacking. Just when Pyre thought she wouldn’t be able to go on defending anymore the voice from her dream came to her again. “Don’t be afraid, fore you will be the one to save the sky” This filled Pyre with a sort of empowerment and she rushed to attack, but just as she was about to strike the person the ground began to shake and move apart. When she regained her focus the person was gone. But now she saw some else, Peter. He was standing not too far from her, there was a dark aura coming from him, the same one from her dream. She ran toward him. “Peter!!’ she screamed. But He could not answer; he was fading away. It looked like he was crumbling. Pyre started crying. Why was this happening? “Peter! Oh Peter I’m so sorry! This is all my fault!” She thought she saw he him “I forgive you” and started crying even more. She looked around and saw that the parts of her once peaceful town were floating in fragments. When she looked back up at Peter he was gone. She screamed, and kept screaming until she collapsed crying, her friends, family, town, everything she knew, was gone; she could feel it. She just laid there for a while, cryingan unmoving. Then she saw two more people, they were dressed in the odd clothes, gray tight pants that clutched to there legs and the same with there shirts, they had blue wires going around there bodies and headphones on. “Looks like we’re too late.” The first one said. The second one looked around nodding his head, and then he spotted Pyre. “Hey look! There’s one still left!” The first man looked down at Pyre with indifferent eyes, while the second man looked concerned. “She’s one of them. Leave her.” “But we can’t-she’s still so young!” “You know our orders, rescue the innocents, you can leave the warriors to die.” “But!” The first man held up his hand to silence the second one. Then they disappeared. Pyre didn’t care. Everything she knew was gone, and she wanted to go with it. She closed her eyes and felt like she was falling again. When she opened her eyes, she was in an alley, the ground was cobblestone and the houses were made of a combination of brick and wood. She was tempted to stay there and waste away but her curiosity got the better of her and she looked around. She walked out of the alley and found herself standing in what looked like a town square. People were talking to one another and she saw people going in and out of shops and restaurants, she stopped one women walking past her. “Excuse me miss, what is this place? The women looked surprised at first, then smiled warmly and said, “Why this is Traverse Town my dear. You must be new. My name is Ann Maloney, come with me dear, you’ll probably need a place to stay and I haven’t had a new visitor a very long time. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- okay! first chapter up! please tell me if you like it! Flamming is welcomed too! Fun Fact: Pyre's name was orginally suppose to be Pyra, but when i typed it in and spell check cam up instead of saying ignore i google the first option Pyre and it fit so much better with what I'm going to do with her charater that i immediatly fell in love with it.
