So, here's chapter two of After Sora: Age of Darkness. Technically, it is the thanksgiving special! and, yes, Cloud's new saying is, in fact, bullshit.


Chapter 2: Why We Wonder

When all else fails, one shall become the only one, and finally, death will prevail.

Radiant Garden

“After you disappeared, Cloud, we went off and fought Xemnas in The World That Never Was. I….I was fighting with Riku at my side, and we were attempting to take down Xemnas. Xemnas injured Riku… and…. Then…. I killed Riku.” Sora started to say, before starting to sob uncontrollably. “Its…Its all my fault…..”


“Wait a second, don’t blame it on yourself. That only makes it worse. Believe me on this one.” Cloud commented, sitting next to Sora on the sidewalks of Hollow Bastion. “I fought with myself for years, and that did bullshit to help.”


“I….I know…. But……. I need to kill him….. I need to kill that damn bastard!” Sora exclaimed, a ball of pure darkness appearing in his hand. It seemed to explode as his hand clenched around it. “One day I will…. I swear it…”


“Hey, little buddy, I never knew you could use such foul language.” Cloud commented, obviously trying to lighten the mood a bit. “Honestly, where did you learn this bullshit?”


Suddenly, Sora was on his feet, his hand clenched around Cloud’s neck. Later on, Cloud would remember being several feet up in the air, with his feet dangling uselessly below him.


“What the hell did you just say, you jackass?” Sora yelled angrily, a demonic look in his eyes. “Why the hell did you just do that, Cloud? Why?”


“Whoa, little buddy. May I suggest anger management class?” Cloud attempted to joke. He saw something different about Sora… Something evil… “Or, uh, would you just like to continue talking about your problems? I would prefer to go with that last one, by the way.”


Sora’s eyes returned to normal, his feet dropping back to the ground. “Yeah… I’d like that…”


Cloud pretended to dust himself off, putting his hands on his hips afterword. “So, Sora, let’s get started. What do you want to talk about?”


Sora paused for a moment, thinking. “Well….. How about we talk about…. Uh…. Oh, yeah. What happened between you and Sephiroth?”


“Well… We were deep in a fight, which you saw. I didn’t think I could beat the darkness in my heart. But Tifa helped me learn otherwise. Sephiroth and I were teleported, via my powers and his, to the realm of eternal darkness.” Cloud began, clearly attempting to remember all the details.


“He… He said that that was where I belonged… But I didn’t listen. I fought him. Eventually, we were both down to our last strength. But, then a strange person appeared. I don’t know who it was, but he told me ‘Don’t give up, Cloud!’. Then, somehow, I delivered the last blow to Sephiroth. As he lay there, dying, Sephiroth told me that I could never escape him. I hit him, over and over, until he stopped talking. Then, I came back here, my home.” Cloud finished, taking a deep breath.


“Whoa…. That was long! I never knew that there was a realm of eternal darkness!” Sora exclaimed, somehow surprised. “Y’know…. I probably could have guessed after I heard about the realm of eternal nothingness. I wonder how many realms there really are…..”


“Well, that’s something that we will probably never find out. I mean, there could be thousands or more!” Cloud said, seemingly interested in the topic. “Hell, there could be a realm of eternal souls, or something like that.”


The two were quite for a while, contemplating the idea. Then, Sora started sobbing, tears dropping down like bombs.


“Sora….. What’s wrong?” Cloud asked his fifteen year old friend. “Did you…. Oh.” Cloud then understood Sora’s sorrow. It was similar to his, the sorrow that he had experienced for so many cold, hard years. And yet, this sorrow was different. Sora was experiencing the sorrow of losing a friend.


Sora suddenly looked up at the sky, tears streaming down his face. He wondered exactly how many realms and worlds and whatever the hell else was there existed. He wondered how he could find out. And, most of all, he wondered how life could, at times, be so cruel as to take itself away.

The Pacific Oceans

The whole world seemed to be engulfed in water, for indeed it was. Fish of all kinds swam left and right, back and forth. In fact, there only seemed to be one creature in the group of thousands that was not completely, totally moving.


Marlin the clown fish was in a group of thousands of fish, yet he was alone. He had lost something hours before, something very precious to him. He had lost his one son, Nemo. The young clown fish had wandered off by himself, without anybody knowing where he was.


“Nemo! NEMO!” Marlin called, his voice lost to the astounding depths. “Where are you?”


A dark shadow appeared above Marlin, and the other fish, for that matter. All fled, yet Marlin stayed where he was, oblivious.


A voice suddenly came out of nowhere. It was a slight whisper, only loud enough for Marlin to here. “I think that I could assist you in your… problem.”


Marlin quickly turned around, his eyes large with fear and excitement. What he saw was the largest shark that had ever been seen in all of the Pacific Oceans. “Who…. Who are you? And what do you know about Nemo?”


The shark chuckled, showing a pair of giant, well polished teeth. “Now, now. Don’t get ahead of yourself. For now, all that you need to know is that I am a friend. I shall also infrm you of my name. It is…. Xemnas. One of the last surviving members of Organization XIII now stand before you. Consider your self lucky that I am not you enemy, or you would already be dead…”

Halloween Town

Jack Skellington screamed, a final scream of terror. The thing was viciously attacking him with a strange blade. It glittered in the darkness, illuminating the blotches of red that flew for several seconds, before it stopped. There lay Jack Skellington, still dressed in a pink Easter Bunny suit. He was not dead. The man’s mission had been to only injure him, to his dismay.


“Jack…. You were disappointing. I expected more from the great Pumpkin King. Now, you shall remember the face…. The face of the great bounty hunter, Josh!” The man said, his whole body concealed in darkness. Josh then disappeared in a flash of light. For a second, Jack thought that he saw a familiar face. But, it could not be! Yet, he was sure of who the man was.


The man was Jack’s old friend, Sora…

uh... Xemnas never died. He disappeared during the prologue. Unless, of course, that is not what you meant.

So, this is the new chapter. Composed of nearly all new things. Enjoy!


Chapter 3: The Valley of the Kings

Clones are the downfall of life as we know it, for heroes fall at their clones. This is the prophecy of the last king of Death, the Reaper himself.

Radiant Garden

“Sora…. After Riku died, you just lost it, right? Well, that is very common after the death of a friend.” Cloud said, his voice a mixture of understanding, questioning, pity, and nervousness.


“…I guess that it would be common. After words, I.. I just felt so sad, and so… and so angry!” Sora responded. “And Kairi…. When I told her, she just brushed it off, y’know? Then, she was always trying to cheer me up. I… I just couldn’t though. I couldn’t forget about Riku. Then, well, actually now, I left and started to follow tracks that Xemnas left. That brings me here…. Well, that and I need a weapon repair. See, this keyblade has been acting funny lately. Hopefully, Leon could help me out.”


“I don’t think that Leon will be helping any time soon.” Cloud stated, looking toward the castle that stood in front of him. “He… He left to go back to school. The Balamb Garden Academy is his current location”


“Shit.” Sora simply stated.


“Exactly, little buddy.” Cloud agreed. “Anyway, if you need some help, I’m here for you, right?”


“Well, you can’t help me with my keyblade troubles. I know that for a fact.” Sora said, looking at the keyblade now residing in his hand. “Could you…. Help me take down Xemnas?”


“Well, I’ve got nothing else to do this week.” Cloud laughed, a huge grin on his face. “Hey, how about we spar a bit to get warmed up?”


“You sure? I might go crazy, like before….” Sora looked down at his feet. “I might… get angry…”


“Hey, man, don’t worry about it. Now, get up.” Cloud stood up, pulling his sword from its sheath. Sora did similarly, except his sword was already in his hand. “Alright, let’s fight!”


Immediately, Cloud ran at Sora, sword gleaming in the sun. Cloud attempted to hit Sora with a swing from the right, but Sora easily parried. Then, Sora counter-attacked with a blow to the chest.


“Ugh!” Cloud exclaimed, surprised by the sudden pain. Then, he smiled. “Hey, Sora, you’ve gotten pretty good. But, not good enough.”


Cloud disappeared, with no trace of where he went. Sora let his guard down for one second, a fatal mistake. Cloud slammed into Sora from behind, an attack that took the keyblader by surprise. Sora was flung into the air, with Cloud several feet below him.


“Ha, take this!” Cloud screamed, diving through the air, his sword prepared to make the winning blow. Sora was reminded of his battle with Xemnas. Then, Sora’s eyes glazed over, and all hell broke loose.


Sora created a shield of pure darkness, which Cloud unwittingly hit. There was an explosion as the blond haired fighter was dropped to the ground at an incredible rate. A crater lay in the ground, with a figure in the center. Seconds after word, blood poured down from the sky, drenching everything in its path. Strangely, though, the blood was not Cloud’s, but Sora’s. The keyblade wielder was on the ground, several feet away from Cloud.


Cloud somehow pushed himself up, staring at Sora. Sora was drenched in blood, yet there appeared to be no wounds on his body. Also, the blood was being absorbed by Sora’s body. Within seconds, the blood that had once covered everything was nowhere to be seen.


“Sora….. What the Hell happened to you?” Cloud mumbled to himself. He was answered by a small grin and a chuckle, from the dark keyblader.


“I…. I guess that training in the dark portals was… Good to do…” Sora grumbled before passing out.


“Well, I guess that we know something about him is different.” A voice behind Cloud said.


“Yes, Cid, he is different than before.” Cloud said, turning toward the middle aged man with his hand on his hips. “Yet… I feel the need to help him. So, I shall. Good-Bye, Cid. I have the feeling that this might be the last time I see you in this life.”


Cloud picked up Sora, draping him on his back. Then, he walked toward the Gummi Garage, leaving the mechanic behind him, forever.

Castle Oblivion

A man traveled along the corridors of Castle Oblivion. He looked about fifteen or sixteen, yet he was truly only about seven months old. The man was wearing a dark blue robe, with a silver tie near the hood. The only part of his face visible was a few strands of dark red hair.


The man appeared outside a large, sturdy door, which he pushed open easily. As he walked into the room, He was overwhelmed by feelings of dread, hope, and hopelessness, all at once. Several people lined the room, a few referring to him as he went by.


“Hello, Alex-san.” A girlish voice behind him said. He turned to see a girl, about the same age as him, with light blond hair waving at him.


“Hey, Xalrene-chan.” Alex replied with a wave of his own hand. Then, he continued walking toward the large throne in front of him. For, this was the throne room, after all.


A man was sitting on the throne, in a similar garment as Alex. The only difference was that his tie was gold, not silver.


“Hey, Master. I have a wish that I want to be granted.” Alex said, kneeling before the man on the throne.


“What is it that you wish, Alex-bozu?” The master asked Alex.


“Where has Xemnas-kun gone?” Alex asked, nervously looking up. “Please tell me, Master Xenumy.”


“He is on a mission for the good of this organization, Alex. Please, refrain from asking to many questions. I have a headache at the moment.”


Alex was silent for a moment, thinking out the situation. Should he ask the question that was on his mind? He decided to risk it.


“Does this have to do with him being your-” Alex started, before Xenumy interrupted him.


“SHUT UP!!” Xenumy screamed, sticking his middle finger at the boy. “No one must know that! Guards, take this Clone of a Bitch away from here.”


The men from the sides of the room ran forward, grabbing Alex by the arms. They quickly threw him outside of the throne room, closing the door after going back in.


“Dammit, I guess that didn’t work.” Alex said, dusting himself off as he got up. “But, I just have to find out if my suspicions are true….. Am I really Axel’s clone?”

Chapter 4: Prelude to Adventure

Yes, Darkness is powerful. But Death is the only true power in the dimensions.

Halloween Town

Halloween Town seemed deserted after the recent onslaught from the Bounty Hunter Josh. Only one figure seemed to be seen, and he was in bad shape. It was the ghoul known as Jack Skellington, commonly called the Pumpkin King. He appeared to be unconscious, but looks can be deceiving.


“…. Ugh… Anybody there?” Jack grunted, trying to push himself up from the ground. “I…. I need…. Help….”


Another flash of light. At first, Jack thought that it was Josh again. But, thankfully, it was not. The man wore a dark overcoat, with brown buttons lining all the way up. His face was strange; He had one eye patch over his left eye, and a large scar over the right.


“Who… are you?” Jack asked the strange man. “Can you… Help me?”


“Where the fun by in that?” the man snickered. His voice had a slight Irish accent, but Jack could not know such things. “My name is…. Braig. Braig X.”


“Do I… know you?” Jack asked, exasperated that this man would not help him. “Why… Why can’t you help me?”


Braig snickering stopped, then suddenly turned into a full-force laugh. “Well, obviously I’m not your friend. So, why should I help one that I do not know? And, I believe that you should know me.”


“Please…… Help me……” Jack pleaded, tears running from his eye sockets. “I… I need help….”


“Shut up, loser!” Braig shouted, drawing a weapon that appeared to be a fusion of a gun and a scythe. “Die!”


Braig pulled the strange weapon’s trigger, silencing Jack Skellington forever.


“Jack…… You really should have recognized me…” Braig stated almost sorrowfully. “I’m the one from your dreams…. No, from your nightmares. Jack, I am who you wished did not exist.”


“I am…. Death’s Apprentice.”

Radiant Garden- Sora’s Mind

Sora was….. somewhere. He wasn’t quite sure where. The place was cold and dark, and all that was in view was a small, wooden chair. Sora walked over to it, sitting down.


Suddenly, a creature appeared. The creature was…. Scary. That was the one word that popped into Sora’s mind. Pure, complete horror.


“Sora…… You can have everlasting power.” The creature stated. It was the embodiment of horror itself, the face from your nightmares. “Just do something for me……..”


Sora was too frightened to speak. Yet, the creature knew his thoughts.


“I want you…… To kill Cloud….” The creature continued. “It is…. His time to come to me.”


“Who…. Who are you?” Sora asked, using his whole strength to speak.


“Sora, you’ve met me before. I am Death. No one can outrun me.” Death spoke, a weapon appearing in his hand. It was a scythe, the Scythe of Death itself. It seemed to hold the essence of power. “If you help me out, I can give you my power…..”


Sora was, once again, speechless. He had absolutely no idea what was going on. Images sped before his eyes; images of power, wealth. He had strange urges… Strange urges to go and kill Cloud. He didn’t want to do it….. And yet he did. It was the oddest thing…


“I’ll let you go….. Think about it….” Death said, disappearing in a cloud of darkness, leaving Sora there to contemplate the offer that he had been given.

Castle Oblivion

A man watched the situation in the throne room with a smile. He had just found out a large amount of valuable information. All from the request of Alex.


“Alex, Alex, Alex, Alex.” The man stated. He wore a dark cloak that hung down to his feet. “You really need to learn. Don’t trust clones. But, you are one, so I shouldn’t blame you, I guess.”


A guard appeared behind the man. They were in a small chamber overlooking the throne room. Small quarters would call for a small scale fight.


“Who are you?” The guard exclaimed, raising his gun-like weapon. “What are you doing here?”


“Hmm… You shouldn’t have said anything.” The man stated. In a flash, a gush of blood erupted from the guard’s neck. The guard fell to the ground, dead already. The man appeared to have not moved, yet a small drop of blood dripped out from under his black sleeve.


“Got It Memorized?” The man asked, pulling down his hood. It revealed a face with dark red spiky hair and a large scar over both eyes. “Name’s Axel….”

Radiant Garden

The man called Yugurex watched the fight between Sora and Cloud silently. This boy intrigued him. Not only did he wield the keyblade, he also wielded the power of darkness. Clearly, this boy could be of use to him.


“Sora…… You name symbolizes many things. Soon, though, you will not even know who you were before. You existence will…. Change.” Yugurex whispered to himself. “You have no idea the power that memories hold…”


“Yes.” A voice spoke. “You do know that I can only repair the memories of the true ones?”


“Obviously.” Yugurex replied. “Who do you think Sora is?”
