well here is the first chapter.

Chapter 1
Return to light and tragic past/future

“So they may very well be stuck in the realm of darkness?” Ansem asked in clarification.

Merlin, Yen Sid, and Archsage Athos all nodded sadly.

“The realms only get this close once every millennium,” Athos said, “and even then only for an hour. It has been near an hour since Xando, Kairi, and Riku left to retrieve Sora and return here. There is perhaps
seconds left until this multidimensional event ends, and I fear they are lost there forever.”

At the time, such words would be the cold truth of it. In retrospect, however, Athos spoke too soon. Right at that moment, a Gate from the darkness opened in Ansem’s study, and Sora, Riku, and Kairi fell out, accompanied by Xando moments later. Without taking the time to say hello, he turned and fired a white-hot ball of fire into the Gate just as it closed.

“That should make anyone trying to follow us through the Gate reconsider,” Xando said.
Sora, Riku and Kairi got up to see that they had landed in Ansem’s study. Assembled there already was Leon, Yuffie, Aerith, Ansem (of course), Merlin, Yen Sid, Tifa, and an old man that had a sage-like appearance to him.

“You made it!” Ansem exclaimed in pleasant surprise, “We thought you were goners.”

“You doubted my tactical skills?” Xando answered jokingly.
Sora got to his feet and looked around at his old friends (had it really been two years since he had seen them last?) and then turned to the black haired youth.

“You saved my life,” Sora said, “I’m really grateful for that. But… who are you?”

Xando smiled and then bowed before Sora, “Xando, Prince of Shadows, at your service.”

“I thought you looked familiar,” Sora commented, “You’re that guy from 2 years ago. The one that came and helped us back on the islands.”

“I only regret that I wasn’t able to rescue you then,” Xando said regretfully, “but I figured two out of three was better than none at all.”

“But… why are you doing all this for us? I didn’t even know you until today.”

Riku was about to explain the unique circumstances as to Xando’s past, but Xando silenced him with a wave of his hand, “I will fill him in myself. And this time, I hold nothing back from you.”

Sora nodded then turned to the old man with whom he was unfamiliar with, “and who are you?”

The old man then said, “I am known as Athos. Many simply choose to call me Archsage.”

“Archsage… Athos?” Ansem asked, “Wait a minute! That’s impossible! You can’t be THE Archsage Athos!”

For the next hour, Archsage Athos related the story of his life, at Ansem’s request. When he was done, many mysteries surrounding the old sage were revealed. After several more hours of updating each other (especially Sora) as to recent activities and strategizing, they decided they still didn’t have enough strength to fight off the Xehanort and his Heartless army if they decided to attack. The only good thing was that Heartless were rarely spotted in the worlds nowadays; whether that was actually good news or not was a subject of debate.

They concluded that Sora would need a few days to recover before he could fight again, and they dispersed with the intent of convening again in a few days, after King Mickey was contacted and updated.
Leon had gotten them a vacant house for Sora, Riku, Kairi, and Xando to live in while they stayed in the Garden. Once they got their, Xando had the three heroes gather around the fireplace so that he could share is tale.

“I have thought long and hard as to how much I should tell you,” Xando began, “and I have decided to tell you almost everything.”

“Almost?” Riku asked. It didn’t take much of Xando to make Riku suspicious of his friend. He trusted Xando now, but he hated how Xando kept so many secrets.

“There are some things in my tale that I keep from you all only to protect you,” Xando said, “and some things are just too personal to me, too tragic. Anyways, Riku and Kairi already know this, but I am from the future.”

Xando then related to Sora everything he had told Riku and Kairi on the train two years ago. After that, he began to speak of the things had kept that time. “Because of an accident, I was the honored guest of the Resistance, which the three of you started by the way, though none of you were alive by this point. During my stay, I met a young girl, maybe eight years old. Her name… was Colette.”

Xando had to stop for a few seconds and recover from the mere mention of her name, “she was the only one who managed to… melt through the cold layers I had put around my heart. She was the first, and perhaps only, person I dared to call friend. As it turned out, the leader of the Resistance, a masked man named Zentra, betrayed his soldiers to the Dark Empire, and Valzog came with a thousand men. It took only a day for the Resistance to be wiped out. However, before we left, Colette showed me something. A horrible project Xehanort had been working on 13 years ago, in my timeline that is. The name of that abomination was…”

“Project: ENDLESS, right?” Sora finished.

Xando nodded, “correct. At the time, I had not known of Zentra’s betrayal. I fled into the desert with Colette, escaping from the imperial army. It was around this time I had decided that what Xehanort was doing was wrong, and had vowed to stop him at any cost. We made our way back to the capitol, and we stayed with an old ‘friend’ of mine. One night, I left, not telling Colette that I was leaving, and went to the ruins of where Project: ENDLESS took place. Most of it had burned down, leading to the termination of the project, but there was enough intact for one to make their way around.”

“Why did you go there?” Kairi asked, “What purpose did it serve?”

Xando thought for a moment, then answered, “I had a strange feeling that there was a connection between Zentra and Project: ENDLESS. As it turned out, I was right. Zentra was one of the lucky guests of the prison camp/research station. The experimentations done on him had eventually cost him his sanity. One night, he set the place ablaze, scarring himself in the process, hence the mask, and left in the night, to be presumed dead by the officials later on. It was at this time I learned of his treachery. We fought, and he beat me easily. However, before he could land the killing blow, he was distracted by a fireball.”

“Colette?” Riku guessed.

“Yes,” Xando confirmed, “it seemed that she had followed me without being detected, and she saved my life. He moved upon her, ready to kill. But I got up and struck him down before he reached her.”
By this time, Xando’s eyes were filled with tears. It was a disturbing thing to Riku and Kairi, for Xando usually kept his emotions in check.

“We savored the victory, ready to take on Xehanort and free the world. Then… everything changed. From out of nowhere, a beam of energy came and struck Colette, burning right through her chest.”

Xando stopped for a moment to sob, then continued, “she… she died in my arms that night. After burying her, I went to Xehanort’s palace and killed her murderer, Valzog. After that, I had my ‘friend’ whom I had been staying with activate a time portal he had been working on. I appeared in Yen Sid’s tower. The rest you know.”

Silence ensued for what seemed like a thousand eternities. The four young heroes merely mourned the young girl in silence.

notice how Xando did not mention certain points in his narrative of Part I. these points have a verrying amount of importance.

well actually Yen Sid and Merl are just there because they are part of the army of light (for lack of an official name at this point). Athos had only just appeared not to long ago to update them on Xando's plan. but when the battles start comeing... well, those three together are going to create quite the chaos.

speaking of battles, as the story of this part progresses, we will take time out to 'visit' the other facets of this war. im talking about things like Xehanort, Maleficent and Pete, and new sides that havent been introduced yet.

one of them, whose goals are unknown and their identities full of mystery, consists of a trio of masked individuals. they will work more behind the scenes, attacking from the shadows type things.

on a more important note, i may put this story on a short hiatus (sp?) after next friday. i do this mainly so i can wait for Jump Festa and whatever information it reveals to come to light. i can then take the information we (hopefully) learn from this event and apply it to the story; i want this to be as closely accurate to the actuall KH story as reasonably possible. depending on how many chapters i can write this week, i may not have to do this.

i have been wondering what to do about him. i liked his character from Fantasia, but he seemed to have met his end back in KH1 (in The End of the World). to answer your question though, no, he is not one of the 7 sides of the war.

even so, i may do something with him in the future.

i guess it was just how i interperated it then. i will see what i can do with him. however, if he appers, it likely wont be until late in the story. but we will see...

in other news, i'm home early on account of a gun threat at school. for this reason, i may finisht he next chapter early (late tonight maybe). if i dont finish it then, it will be up tomorrow sometime.

finally, good news, yesturday (i think, lol) i mentioned i might put this story on a short hiatus after this friday. after reviewing the calander (and my notes on Destati) i have decided i wont be doing so this week. i dont know if i will at all now, seeing what tidbits i have, but i warn you in advance just in case.

okay, i feel i need to clarify before this gets out of hand.

it wasnt actually a gun "threat", per se. there was a rumor that someone had brought a gun to school today, and cops were everywhere acordingly. to the best of my knowledge, no one was hurt. however, so many people took the threat seriously enough to get rides home that by the time my third period came around, over half the class was gone. i decided we weren't going to get anything done the rest of the day and had my mom pick me up. whether someone actually brought a gun to school or if it was just another one of those rumors, i dont know. but if someone was actually hurt, im sure it would be on the news.

hope i didnt worry anyone undully.
