Edit: Something isn't right in the world (note to self, think of a name for the world). Too few rain for the time of the year, food is getting expensive, diseases that should have been extincted decades ago spread again. And worst of all, the magic is failing. Those who are trained in it can feel it, the pain in their heart. Some normal people can feel it too. They don't know what it is, but they feel it. What will happen without the magic? And what causes the disappearing of it?
Several 'normal' people will have a problem, think of above problems or anything else you can think of, and they will seek advise and/or help. They'll end up going to the orakel (sp?). That's the first part of the Rp. There they'll learn how magic really works and what the price is they have to pay. The second part is to find a way to get the magic back, third part is actually doing that. All the time there will be dark mages that try to make them fail. I'm not telling their goal yet (note to selk, think of goal, no kidding, I got the headlines of it)

Would that make something nice?

Hm, I liked your idea, Chosen Again. I liked the nuclear concept. It would be nice if we could merge yours and Salutem's ideas... they seem like they could fit, with a little tweaking.

I'd love to take part in the RP, although I don't know how much I could contribute to actually coming up with the plot.

Do we have any idea of what genre we would be aiming for, cause right now we're just throwing out random ideas. If we had a genre in mind (ex. Futuristic Alien war, Happy-go-lucky Fantasy, Religious Upstart struggle ect.) it would be easier to come up with a good idea.

I'm not saying that the current ideas are not good by any means. Just thought I'd clear that up.

Yes, I would say that a fantasy setting may be best. Note that genre isn't very restrictive.

We need something that's gonna help interaction; a lot of boring RPs tend to have little interaction in them IMO... I hate not being able to speak with other characters.

But seriously, why not have an RP that is seperated into bands of adventurers, but there is more than one so i't's not like LOLOL WEE IZ ALL IN TEH SAME SPOT!


I actually like the idea of a Dragonlance setting...it's basically a normal fantasy setting, but with, like, lances that kill dragons. Win-win.

Plus, it has an epic storyline that is well...epic.

I like the different groups idea; what about having them competing against one another?

Or working for the same goal, but totally unaware of the other party.

Like, one party has a plan but the other people beat them to it.

The fantasy idea with the groups and such sounds like and excellent idea, but somehow we might be able to combine that with something like a pre or post-Apocalyptic world. ( AKA, the groups are the only survivors of some mass destruction, plauge, etc. )

And that could be the world from my original idea, after the magic is gone.
That might work if the idea about how magic works there is slightly altered.

OK, my first idea about the magic was that it is the power of the sun, stored in it's heart. Those with a strong heart and/or soul can connect to it and use it. They use it to much, and at some point there is nothing left.
If you want a post-Apocalyptic world, it could be that the sun wasn't supposed to go out of power because it will generate it on it's own, but to much is used at one time. A nice example I just came up with: A terrible disease that makes people lose consiousness (sp?) and kills them within a few days. It and can't be cured at a normal way. It costs a lot of magic to cure it and it spreads very fast. Every one who has it is cured to stop it from spreading, but there's not enough power. The sun slowly turns red, and the magic gets weaker and weaker. It takes time for the healed people to wake up, and when they finely do so, they find only dead people. The sub can only generate enough power to keep itself burning, and it stays red. Every 'hospital' will be a seperate group, that will try to find out what happened.

What do you guys think of something like that?
