Chapter 6: Heroes and Thieves


So with my drunken brothers I did the best thing I good do at that moment:
I got drunk too. It’s been a habit since my brothers accidentally gave me liquor when I was 13. But Riku doesn’t know. Neither did Kairi.
Now she does though.

“Raye, have you been drinking?!”
I laughed, Hard. “Kai, what’s makes you say such a thing to me?!”
“That sentence didn’t even make sense. I’m starting to think you got drunk just to avoid talking to me about mom…”
Ya think?
“Kairi, that’s…” I fell and past out.
All I heard was a ringing in my ear the next morning. I was disappointed in myself, but it’s a sensitive topic. Still she had the right to know. I saw Sora, fighting for his breakfast with Mickey, Donald and Goofy, while Kairi was sipping orange juice, and Riku was clearing the table. How long was I out? Plus, maybe I was dreaming because Riku never does anything nice for anyone else.

“Had a nice nap?” Kairi said to me and looked pretty annoyed.
“Well yeah, actually…. I…”
“Raye… just stop now……” Riku said and pointed at the fact that Kairi was pissed.
“I want that piece of toast!” Sora was yelling and hopping up and down to reach Goofy’s hand.
I sighed. “Well Kairi I'm sober enough to tell you about mom, though since you heard it all I guess I should tell you a little more about her side in all this….”
“I would…. Really like that Raye…” She got up, and followed me to the basement.
“So, of course judging by me, you, and the rest of us, you should no by now that mom wasn’t such a good girl either. Actually pretty mischievous….” I opened up one of the old photo albums in our old book case.
“Really? But how about me and Yuna? And Hotaru? Were good girls….” She looked down and kicked a dust ball.
“Um….. No. Your not. Yuna’s not. And hotaru is actually a half demon.”
She jumped up.” Really?! I didn’t know that… and well as for me and yuna, well I guess it runs in the family…”
“Hmm? I guess so.” I turned to the page were mom had a sleeveless black top, and dirty black jeans smiling at her goods…. In this case I mean her stolen goods…..
“So um, what’s that?” Kairi was looking over my shoulder.
“Wow! I didn’t even know that mom was a thief! I wonder why she started to work for Hojo….”
“Hey, Raye, mom kinda looks like Yuffie in this picture! Hmm? Raye?”
I slammed the book closed. “Listen Kairi, what you should know is that Yuffie never existed, its all in your head.”
“I don’t understand….”
“Well….” Vincent walked downstairs. Of course he would know this story better than everyone…..
“Vincent, what is Raye talking about? You’ve fought along side Yuffie, where did she go?”
Vincent cleared his throat. “She never left. She right there.” He pointed at me.
“What!? I…….”
“Let me clear things up for you, Kairi. Your brothers and sisters, the ones that have been experimented on, have special abilities… however Raye was under experimentation the longest. So, she can change the color of her skin, eyes, and hair.
“It’s really a shame. I liked Yuffie. Too bad I was only fooling myself….”
“But what about her father?” Kairi was freaked out now.
“He knew… after a while.” Vincent looked like he was disturbed.
“But……” Kairi sat down.
“So things are better left unsaid…… plus I don’t miss her…” Vincent looked around.
“Oh thanks Vincent. Listen Kairi Yuffie was sorta a cover, I mean, after what dad did in Nebelhiem we couldn’t just say: Look at us! Were Sephiroth’s children! That’s why all of us were separated. Plus all I did was change my appearance; I was given that name after I was found.”
“I…. ok…. Whatever…..” Kairi said holding her head.
“I’m glad that’s settled. Do you want to look at this book with me? Oh and Vincent, Tahj has been looking for you……” I smiled evilly.”
“I’m gonna get his little….”
“Vincent!? You down here? I got something you want…..” Tahj was throwing Vincent’s gun up and down. Hopefully he’ll “accidentally” shoot himself. Relax I’m kidding…….
“I’m gonna say it nicely…… give it back….” Vincent was growling low. Vincent’s only fooling himself, he can’t pull off nice…..
“You’ll have to catch me first! Ha!” Tahj ran back upstairs.
Vincent sighed. This is gonna be a long day.” He went back upstairs.
When I looked behind me, Kairi already was laughing at the pictures. I guess I didn’t have to actually tell her anything. Mom’s legacy was told through her photographs.




Don’t bite my head off, its just that my cousins dubbed me yuffie when I was 7 and ive stuck with her ever since… plus… I think it makes a very interesting story XD

Chapter 7: Nolita Fairytale


Well, with that said, I don’t have to talk to Kairi anymore, she found out everything she needed to know:
But now she was asking me something else…..
“So, about Hotaru……” Kairi to the photo album upstairs.
“….. Um, what about her?” I was a little annoyed, a lot has happened over a couple of days, and I was getting tired.
“You said that she was a half demon….” Kairi ran in front of me.
“Experimentation, Kairi that just happen to have been Hotaru’s side-effect.”
“I think you know what I'm going to ask you…..” Kairi actually stopped me from going onto my room.
I sighed. “You want to know more about your youngest sibling? Then ask her. And with that said, I’m going now.” She practically through herself aside and I went down for a nap.
“Um…..” Kairi opened Hotaru’s door. The room was a dark lavender with white tips at the top, she also had a bunch of painted black stuffed animals, and one of them happened to be a heartless plushy. Someone really should bring that up because that’s false advertising.
“I like playing in the dark. I can see my videogames better.” Hotaru was sitting between the stuffed animals playing her DS.
“Um, hey, Hotaru, can I ask you a couple of questions?” Kairi seemed a little freaked out.
“You want to know more about me? I know a lot about you……” She laughed.
“…. Well, ok then. Mind if I sit down?” Kairi sat on a giant black beanbag chair.
“Do you want to hear a song? It’s a beautiful one. I like to play piano.” She jumped from her bad and went downstairs.
Kairi was mumbling.” What was the purpose of me sitting down then?” She followed Hotaru downstairs.
There was a moogle trying to sell newspapers by the kitchen. See, because we don’t live on our home worlds anymore, we need to know what’s going on somehow right?
Kairi followed Hotaru down into a room with big ceilings. Yes, everything here is pretty convenient.
“How long have you been playing?” Kairi held the photo album close to her chest.
“I don’t remember, but I’m really good.” She started to play a melody.
Kairi was amazed. When Hotaru played, it was a sad one, but with beautiful colors, it seemed like Hotaru didn’t have to sing along, her aura did it for her. Shades of cerulean, and lilac filled the room. Shapes of people dancing also appeared.
“I….. Well… this family is just full of surprises…..” Kairi stood up and watched the dancers go by.
“Why are you surprised? I’m sure you can do it too….” Hotaru’s melody got faster, and shades of red and orange appeared.
“I, I could?” Kairi still was shocked.
“When I dream, I dream of beautiful things. Some maybe sad, but mostly happy. When I wake up I play the song. The song that goes with every story. Everyone has one….” Hotaru closed her eyes and smiled.
“What do you mean Hotaru?” Kairi stopped looking at the figures.
“A heart’s song.” Just think big sister, when you dream, you dream about what your hearts desires, or what it feels. But when you wake up you notice, those very dreams, are exactly like Fairytales.” Hotaru kept smiling and playing.
Kairi smiled back. “I guess your right.” Kairi sat back down, and watched the colors change from red, to blue, to purple, and yellow…


Well, since I finished the segment about their mother, I decide to introduce the rest of Sephiroth’s children. Hotaru is actually my favorite ^^
